Ruby Rose recently accused Katy Perry of sexual assault. The Orange is the New Black actor alleged that the assault happened almost 20 years ago. A recently resurfaced essay by Rose digs into an experience she had with Perry. She said that vomiting on the singer’s feet inspired her to get sober.

Ruby Rose accused Katy Perry of sexual assault

Rose recently responded to an article about Perry.

“Katy Perry sexual assaulted me at spice market nightclub in Melbourne [sic],” Rose wrote. “Who gives a s*** what she thinks.”

In further posts, she alleged that Perry “saw me ‘resting’ on my best friends lap to avoid her and bent down, pulled her underwear to the side and rubbed her disgusting vagina on my face until my eyes snapped open and I projectile vomitted on her.”

She said that this happened close to 20 years ago.

“I was only in my early 20s. I’m now 40. It has taken almost two decades to say this publicly,” Rose wrote. “Though I am so grateful to have made it long enough to find my voice, it just shows how much of an impact trauma and sexual assault takes. Thank you for seeing me.”

Melbourne Police confirmed that they are investigating the incident after Rose filed a report.

Ruby Rose wrote about a night out with Katy Perry

In a recently resurfaced essay from 2011, Rose appears to have written about her night out with Perry. She said she’d been drinking that night after a month of sobriety.

“I had been off the grog for 30 days — my first attempt at sobriety — and I was out partying with Katy,” Rose wrote (per the Herald Sun). “What I do remember thinking was: ‘I’ll have a drink tonight, I deserve one. I mean, what’s the worst that could happen?’ Well, not stopping at one drink, or 10, and then vomiting on Katy’s foot was the answer.”

She said that this incident led her to commit to sobriety.

“The short answer: I threw up on Katy Perry. And that’s one of the reasons I’ve been off the grog now for almost 90 days,” she wrote. “Before you jump to conclusions, nothing horrific happened, nor have I been hit with a DUI — but I just had enough, and it has been one of the best decisions of my life.”

The singer’s team has denied the allegations

Perry’s team has adamantly denied the allegations.

“The allegations being circulated on social media by Ruby Rose about Katy Perry are not only categorically false, they are dangerous reckless lies,” a rep for Perry said, per USA Today. “Ms. Rose has a well-documented history of making serious public allegations on social media against various individuals, claims that have repeatedly been denied by those named.”
