Kylie Jenner has officially entered her pop star era with her single, “Fourth Strike.” Fans adore the song and can’t wait to see what Jenner does next, especially with the return of herself as “King Kylie.” And it’s also making pop music fans wonder why Jenner hasn’t released music before now.

In a candid Q&A posted to Jenner’s YouTube, Jenner admitted that she’s always “wanted to be a pop star,” and releasing a single has been a “dream.”

“I just never had the confidence,” she explained as to why she didn’t pursue the dream until now. “I think turning 28 just does something to you. To create the song, Jenner went through two studio sessions that spanned five to six hours in length each. While she was nervous the first night (and downed three vodka-soda mixed drinks as a result), she had a blast.
