Who Is San Antonio Spurs Guard Dylan Harper’s Girlfriend, JoJo Lacey?
After playing his college basketball at Rutgers University, Dylan Harper was selected by the San Antonio Spurs with the second overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft.
His strong all-around game and ability to score made him an ideal fit for the Spurs, a franchise known for developing young talent. Harper joined a San Antonio roster led by Victor Wembanyama and immediately showed flashes of becoming a future star. Dylan made his regular-season debut in October and later stepped in when injuries kept fellow guard De’Aaron Fox out.
During his rookie NBA season, Dylan averaged nearly 12 points and close to four assists per game while earning NBA All-Rookie First Team honors. He was the 10th player in Spurs history to earn the honor and joined a first-team group that included Cooper Flagg, Kon Knueppel, VJ Edgecombe, and Cedric Coward.
Off the court, Dylan’s mother, Maria, and his girlfriend, JoJo Lacey, have made headlines for their head-turning looks the night he was drafted. Here are a few things you may not know about his family and the woman he’s in a relationship with.
Harper and Lacey are college sweethearts. The pair met when they both attended Rutgers. The exact time when they started dating is unclear, but the point guard only spent one season at the university so that narrows it down to sometime in 2024-2025 season.
The two haven’t been shy when it comes to sharing their love for each other on social media, and fans can’t get enough of the adorable comments they leave for one another on their posts.
Dylan comes from a family of athletes. His father, Ron Harper, is an NBA legend who spent 15 years in the league. Over the course of his career, he played for the Cleveland Cavaliers, Los Angeles Clippers, Chicago Bulls, and the Los Angeles Lakers. Ron won five NBA Championships and was named to the NBA All-Rookie Team.
Dylan’s mother is a baller as well. Maria began playing basketball when she was in fifth grade. She continued to play the sport through high school and earned a scholarship to play at the University of New Orleans from 1993 to 1996.
But it’s not just his parents. Dylan’s brother, Ron Jr., is a shooting guard on the Boston Celtics. He also had stints with the Toronto Raptors and the Detroit Pistons. Moreover, Maria’s dad and Dylan’s grandfather, Manuel Pizarro, represented the Philippines in jai alai during the 1968 Summer Olympics in Mexico City.
With that family background, it makes sense that Dylan’s girlfriend is an athlete as well.
Lacey was born on Dec. 30, 2001 in Douglassville, Pennsylvania. She gained national attention during her high school basketball career at Westtown School, where she was the team captain and helped lead the program to its first Friends League championship in more than two decades.
She was an undergrad at Boston College and played for the Eagles. She then attended Rutgers as a graduate student and played one season with Scarlet Knights. During her 2024-25 campaign Lacey became the only player to start all 33 games of and led the team with 31.5 minutes per game.
After college, she embarked on a professional basketball career and signed with the WNBA’s Washington Mystics in April 2025, before joining Athletes Unlimited Pro Basketball.
