Sarah Ferguson Refuses to Cut Ties and Still Has a Relationship With Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor Despite Epstein Investigation
After Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson were evicted from the Royal Lodge estate they shared in Windsor Park earlier this year. The two exes went their separate ways.
The former prince moved into a private home owned by King Charles in Norfolk, while the former duchess fled the U.K. amid the ongoing fallout as more of her emails and links to convicted offender Jeffrey Epstein were made public.
Sarah relocated to a chalet in the Austrian Alps owned by her late ex-boyfriend, Paddy McNally. She then stayed with her youngest daughter, Princess Eugenie, in Portugal for a bit when she gave birth to her third child. Sarah was later spotted in Cape Town, South Africa. She then returned to Britain and has kept a low profile. She’s also keeping in touch with her ex, despite the scandal that outed their long association with Epstein. Their association with the disgraced offender caused irreparable damage to their reputations and led to their exile from the royal family.
A spokesperson for Sarah told People, “They [Sarah and Andrew] have an ongoing cordial and supportive relationship as co-parents and co-grandparents.”
Her spokesperson added, “She’s resettling here (U.K.), lying low while she looks at the next stage. She’s happy spending time with her family and focusing on her relocation. She is embracing her family life and seeing her grandchildren.”
Sarah was last seen in public on Oct. 29 when she and her daughters attended a memorial service for her ex, McNally, at St. Paul’s Church in Knightsbridge, London. As for Sarah’s disgraced ex-husband, Police Scotland has launched an early-stage investigation into Andrew concerning his past visits to the royal family’s Balmoral estate with Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell.
On Oct. 30, authorities confirmed that detectives were conducting “active inquiries” following information about Andrew’s reported visits to Balmoral with Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell, saying, “All inquiries are evidence-led, with the needs of victim survivors at the heart of those inquiries… it would be inappropriate to comment further.”
In October 2025, King Charles finally took the steps to remove his brother’s titles following the public outcry for years over his association with Epstein. He later removed the prince title Andrew was given at birth as well. On Feb. 19, 2026, authorities went to the former prince’s temporary residence in Sandringham and arrested him on suspicion of misconduct in public office related to his connections with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
In a statement at the time, the king said, “I have learned with the deepest concern the news about Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and suspicion of misconduct in public office. What now follows is the full, fair, and proper process by which this issue is investigated in the appropriate manner and by the appropriate authorities.
“In this, as I have said before, they have our full and wholehearted support and cooperation. Let me state clearly: the law must take its course. As this process continues, it would not be right for me to comment further on this matter. Meanwhile, my family and I will continue in our duty and service to you all.”
