On Friday, Kelley, 48, was detained by sheriff’s deputies in Utah County, Utah. Officers were responding to a report of a woman who “needed some help” at the Sundance Resort.

“Upon speaking with the female, our Deputies learned that she had made concerning comments to a family member, and she also made similar comments to our Deputies,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement. ““For that reason, our Deputies transported the female to a local hospital.”

Kelley, an author and personal and executive coach, streamed part of her encounter with law enforcement officers on her Instagram. In the video, she objects to being detained and also accuses her husband of being abusive.

Kelley later returned to Instagram, declaring in a post on her Instagram Story that she had been “taken against my will.”

“I have NO idea why or how this is happening in AMERICA,” she added, after saying she was happy and asking someone to check on her kids.

“I am compliant, calm, and respectful, and hopefully this is all sorted very quickly,” she added. In the meantime, be kind to each other. This is one of the darkest things I’ve ever experienced.”
