Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs Forked Over $20 Million in Cassie Ventura Settlement
The third day of Sean “Diddy” Combs’ sex trafficking and racketeering trial featured more explosive revelations.
Diddy’s ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura returned to the witness stand on Wednesday, May 14, where prosecutors questioned her about her relationship with the hip-hop mogul. In addition to sharing disturbing accounts of Diddy’s physical and sexual abuse, Ventura also revealed more details about the 2023 settlement she reached with the rapper.
Diddy paid millions to settle Cassie Ventura’s lawsuit
Diddy forked over $20 million to settle the case, Ventura revealed. The two reached an agreement 24 hours after she filed the civil suit in November 2023, Reuters reported. While the settlement itself was public knowledge, the exact terms of the agreement had not been made public.
The R&B singer said she decided to sue her former boyfriend after going to therapy to cope with the “horrible flashblacks” she was experiencing following their relationship. She and the Bad Boy Records founder dated on-and-off from 2007 to 2018.
Ventura’s civil lawsuit was the first of dozens against Combs. In her filing, Ventura accused him of forcing her to have sex with male prostitutes while he filmed the encounters, beating her, and raping her, among other allegations. Diddy has denied all wrongdoing.
Diddy’s criminal trial began Monday in Manhattan. He has pleaded not guilty to all charges and faces the possibility of life behind bars if convicted.
