Jury selection for the trial of hip-hop mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs begins on May 5, 2025. Combs faces serious federal charges, including sex trafficking, racketeering, and transporting individuals for prostitution. Key witnesses include Combs’ ex-girlfriend, Casandra “Cassie” Ventura, who has accused him of abusing her over an 11-year period. A new report notes that Combs’ other former partners will take the stand and testify. So, who could they be? Here’s what to know.

Jennifer Lopez might testify in Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ trial

According to CNN, Sean “Diddy” Combs’ former sexual partners, a business associate, and a male sex worker are expected to testify in his upcoming trial. At least four of the witnesses who are testifying have already filed civil lawsuits against Combs. The mogul’s attorneys spoke to CNN in April 2025 about the witness list.

“These are not new allegations or new accusers,” Combs’ attorneys previously told the news outlet. “These are the same individuals, former long-term girlfriends, who were involved in consensual relationships. This was their private sex life, defined by consent, not coercion.”

Chatter has surrounded Jennifer Lopez since the Combs’ arrest. Combs and Lopez dated from 1999 to 2001 and were a part of a nightclub shooting the same year they began their romance. New York lawyer Pete Gleason told In Touch Weekly that Lopez’s presence during the shooting is likely enough to get her to testify in Combs’ trial.

“Jennifer Lopez’s presence the night of the shooting incident and then departing in the same vehicle as Combs makes her a witness with firsthand knowledge and could subject her to being subpoenaed to testify under oath,” Gleason said. “If there are any criminal charges or civil claims not outside the statute of limitations, this would likely prove problematic for Lopez.”

Misa Hylton, Yung Miami, Sarah Chapman, and Dana Tran could all possibly testify

Sean “Diddy” Combs’ other ex-girlfriends and romantic flings could also testify. He dated fashion designer Misa Hylton in the early ’90s and helped her attain fame by hiring her to style the music group Jodeci. They had their son, Justin, in December 1993. They broke up shortly after their son’s birth but remained close through the years.

Combs never officially dated Sarah Chapman. However, they welcomed a son, Chance, in 2006. Combs was dating Kim Porter at the time, with whom he had an on-and-off romance from the ’90s until 2007. Porter died from pneumonia in 2018. Combs remained close with Chapman, making it possible for her to be called to testify.

Yung Miami could also receive a call to the stand. She and Combs confirmed their romance in 2022, but Yung Miami later clarified they weren’t exclusive. “We’re dating. We go have dates. We’re friends. We go to exotic locations. We have great times,” Diddy stated on her podcast at the time. In 2023, they attended the Met Gala together.

Finally, Dana Tran might get called for Combs’ case. Tran and Combs welcomed their daughter, Love, in 2022. Combs never confirmed a relationship with the cybersecurity professional, industrial specialist, and model. However, she likely knows him very well.

Casandra ‘Cassie’ Ventura is a central witness in the case

Casandra “Cassie” Ventura is a central witness in the federal case against Sean “Diddy” Combs. She’s chosen to testify under her real name. The other alleged victims can protect their identities by testifying under pseudonyms. The other key witnesses are called “Victim-2,” “Victim-3,” and “Victim-4” in court papers.

Ventura initially filed a lawsuit against Combs in November 2023. She accused Combs of physical and emotional abuse lasting over a decade and stated that Combs forced her to engage in sexual acts with other men. Her initial lawsuit was settled within one day.

Ventura’s friend will also take the stand to corroborate Ventura’s allegations. The friend will also testify on her own experiences with Combs and the violence she witnessed.
