‘Seeking Sister Wife’ Star Garrick Merrifield’s Marriage Book for Women Is Getting Roasted Online
Seeking Sister Wife’s veteran couple, Garrick and Dannielle Merrifield, have astonished viewers of the TLC reality show once more. Dannielle posted on Instagram to promote her husband’s new how-to book, A Woman’s Blueprint for a Godly Marriage. Fans aren’t surprised by much after three seasons with the polarizing couple. But this book may have set a new bar for the couple’s questionable choices.
Garrick Merrifield self-published ‘A Woman’s Blueprint for a Godly Marriage’
Available on Kindle and in paperback, A Woman’s Blueprint for a Godly Marriage features “a look into Marriage from Gods design and his blueprint for a blessed and joyful marriage.” The 93-page guide takes a “dive deep into the heart and mind of God and how much he loves marriage and how sacred it is to him.” Although Dannielle credits Garrick for the book — writing on her Instagram stories, “God led this man to do a pretty cool thing” and “He published his 1st book of many” — the Amazon listing includes both of them as the authors.
Published on October 12, 2025, by a publisher listed as “The More The Merrifield’s,” A Woman’s Blueprint for a Godly Marriage promises to “look into the downfall of not following the blueprint and how much destruction it brings.” The Merrifields write that marriage is “holy,” and “if woman will follow the blueprint he has laid out it will bring immense joy and love and blessing as it is the reflection of Christ and his Church.”
The book cover might be AI-generated. Garrick and Dannielle give no artist credit for the picture of a woman in a wedding gown looking at a Jesus-type man. The style does appear digitally manipulated. The couple also lists the reading age for A Woman’s Blueprint for a Godly Marriage as 16- to 18-year-olds. Readers can get the book for free via Kindle Unlimited or purchase it for $29.99.
Garrick Merrifield’s marriage book already has several one-star reviews
Viewers already know the father of three for his questionable interpretations of the Bible. Now, they also know him for his poor grammar, with many wishing he’d hired a copy editor before publishing his marriage guide. One Amazon reviewer explained that they bought the book because they watched Seeking Sister Wife. They called it a “rambling, unedited (and not in a fun way) sermon.” They continued, “The grammar is atrocious. The point is non-existent. The way Garrick builds himself up as amazing and Dannielle talks about herself as a horrible person is (disgustingly) on brand.”
Another reviewer wrote, “If the author(s) want to be taken seriously then they should at least start with proper grammar, punctuation, and spelling.” They explained that the book focuses on the role of women submitting to their husbands, obeying them in a way “often seen and experienced by members of cults.” They ended the review, “This was a painful read that I could not finish fast enough.”
Seeking Sister Wife fans on Reddit aren’t taking too kindly to the book either. One commentor wrote, “Taking marriage advice from a guy who committed fraud to divorce his legal wife in order to marry Bert / Natalia / Miriam / Lorrena? Hard pass.” Another commented, “I really wish men in general would quit telling women how they should be, like they are some experts on womanhood and femininity, especially this grody loser.”
The Merrifields likely aren’t discouraged by the feedback. The family continues to grow as Lorrana moves to Buena Vista, Colorado, to join them in season 5. Some online reports allege that the Brazilian woman is pregnant with Garrick’s child.
