Selling Sunset star Chrishell Stause isn’t ashamed of where she came from.

Chrishell spoke out after a fiery confrontation with fellow cast member Nicole Young in the latest season of the Netflix reality show, which dropped October 29.

The intense showdown occurred at a dinner where Chrishell addressed Nicole’s alleged drug use. Nicole fired back with some choice comments about her co-star’s mom and dad.

“Honey, you’re confusing me with your parents, OK?,” Nicole said. “You seem to be obsessed with drugs.”

Chrishell has previously spoken about her parents being addicts, and some felt that Nicole’s remark was a low blow. It also might have affected her future on Selling Sunset. Soon after, she left The Oppenheim Group and moved to Nashville.

In an Instagram post, Chrishell shared her perspective on the tense scene with Nicole.

She brings out the worst in me (trust me I know),” she wrote. “The build up clearly had to be condensed down. I didn’t bring the stupid drug thing up, but defended not lying and it escalated from there. Information was shared with me by another cast member that I brought up in the heat of the moment that I shouldn’t have. And I would gladly free base off my desk if I never had to talk about this again.”

The Young and the Restless alum went on to pay tribute to her late parents. Chrishell’s father died of lung cancer in April 2019. Her mother died in July 2020, also of lung cancer.

“I want to dedicate this season to my parents,” Chrishell said. “Because of what was said, they are brought up in every interview that I do. They were such bad *sses, and would be very proud of me. (Yes even after this dinner.)”

“My mom would have had some choice words for a few people, and we would have laughed,” she added. “Thinking of that makes me smile, and I just want to add a positive memory to the conversation if they are going to be discussed.”

‘Selling Sunset’ star defends bringing up Chrishell’s parents

For her part, Nicole feels she did nothing wrong by bringing up Chrishell’s parents.

“She’s talked about [her parents] being addicts,” she said on the show. “It is OK for me to continually be called a drug addict. You talked about your parents doing drugs.”

In an interview with Netflix’s Tudum, Chrishell continued to defend her comments.

“Chrishell talked about her parents having struggled with drug addiction [during] her childhood,” she said. “It was an aha moment for me, because it was like, ‘This seems like maybe her obsession with drugs has nothing to do with me. This might just be some unresolved, deep-seated issues from childhood.’”

“When the back-and-forth stuff started, I was just like, ‘I’m going to stand up for myself at this moment,” she added. “And I’m not going to be told to shut up and to stop speaking.’”
