Serena Williams is not only one of the greatest to ever step onto the court, she also has one of the most stunning engagement rings we’ve ever seen from any tennis star.

Williams and her husband, Alexis Ohanian, met and began dating in 2015. The pair shared the happy news a year later that they were engaged when Williams flashed her huge diamond ring. According to the athlete, Ohanian did plenty of research when choosing the design to ensure that he was selecting the perfect ring. 

“He knew what he was doing,” Williams said.

Neil Dutta, Managing Director of the U.K. jewelry retailer Angelic Diamonds, broke down a few details about the star’s massive diamond sparkler, including how much it cost.

He told Showbiz Cheat Sheet, “Serena Williams is one of the most recognizable athletes on the planet, so it’s no surprise she has one of the most impressive celebrity engagement rings. Known for her powerful presence on court, it’s only fitting that her jewellery makes just as much of a statement.”

Dutta added, “It features a huge emerald-cut center diamond with smaller diamonds on either side, all set on a platinum band for strength and timeless elegance. It’s a classic, no-nonsense design that lets the quality and size of the center stone do all the talking.

“A classic no-nonsense design built for comfort and elegance, I’d estimate this engagement ring to cost around $1.8 million. It’s certainly a statement piece, but one that remains elegant thanks to its clean, classic design.”

When compared to other celebrity engagement rings, Williams’ ring stands out for its classic elegance and sheer size. It is considered one of the most expensive celebrity engagement rings in the world.
