Sonja Morgan Said Carole Radziwill Thought ‘RHONY’ Was ‘Beneath’ Her
Former Real Housewives of New York stars Sonja Morgan and Luann de Lesseps recently responded to Carole Radziwill’s return to the series. Morgan, de Lesseps, and Radziwill all starred on the show together for years. Now that Radziwill is back, Morgan said she is surprised. She didn’t think Radziwill particularly enjoyed her first run on the show.
Sonja Morgan and Luann de Lesseps aren’t impressed with Carole Radziwill’s RHONY return
In 2018, Radziwill announced her departure from RHONY. She said she wanted to focus on other things.
“After six seasons on Bravo’s RHONYC, I have decided to return to what I do best — journalism and producing,” she wrote. “I am sure this does not come as a surprise to any of the viewers, all of whom have been supportive, encouraging, and kind.”
This year, though, she returned to the series. In a recent Call Her Daddy episode, de Lesseps and Morgan discussed this. While de Lesseps said this career move didn’t surprise her, Morgan said she didn’t see it coming.
“I was surprised because when Carole filmed with us, she always acted like, you know, she wasn’t in 100%,” Morgan said. “She was always like, ‘Well, this is a bit beneath me.’ You know, she always gave that air.”
Morgan said that despite this, she thinks that Radziwill has done a good job since her return. She still doesn’t think she’s fully committed to the show, though.
Carole Radziwill previously responded to Luann de Lesseps, not Sonja Morgan
De Lesseps recently said that Radziwill’s return didn’t surprise her because she wasn’t “busy.” In response, Radziwill posted a video of her fishing off a dock.
“So I heard that the Countess recently said that I wasn’t that busy,” she said. “Now you know that I love the Countess. I went to her cabaret show at Bravo Con.”
She said that she’s happy de Lesseps is busy with her cabaret shows. At this point in her life, though, Radziwill said she had worked her entire life and was enjoying not being busy.
She shared why she decided to return to the show
After nearly a decade away, Radziwill said she felt slightly apprehensive about going back to the show.
“I feel the pressure,” she told Bravo. “It feels different this time. It’s much more intensified. But I’m so grateful, because there’s so much love in the Bravosphere.”
She revealed that she decided to return to the show after meeting a stranger at a hospital. The woman was visiting her brother and said that seeing Radziwill brightened her difficult day.
“Just something about that moment, not to be super corny or basic, but there was magic in it,” Radziwill said. “And I just thought, you know, people love that show. It’s these microtransactions that happen every day that really, over the long haul, change your life. You’re gonna bring them joy. It was one of the turning points.”
