Sophie Turner Celebrates 30th Birthday in $1,500 Minidress
Sophie Turner marked her 30th birthday in February 2026, celebrating the milestone in glamorous style. The former Game of Thrones star shared a carousel of photos from a lavish party on Instagram while dazzling in a shimmering, crystal-adorned mini dress. Her celebration spotlighted her transition into a decade she’s talked publicly about embracing with confidence and personal growth. Here’s what to know about her big day — plus, all the details on the dress.
Sophie Turner wore a $1,500 minidress to mark her 30th birthday
Many of Sophie Turner’s fans were first introduced to the actress on Game of Thrones. While she was a young teenager while filming the series, she has since grown in her craft. Now, the actress is officially 30, and she posted photos to Instagram from her big day.
“So this is 30 … I think I like it so far,” she captioned her post. The first black-and-white photo in the carousel showed her dancing in the middle of many friends while holding her heels high above her head. And the third photo showed her full outfit — a sheer halter minidress draped with rhinestones. She paired the dress with dangling earrings and a sparkling bag, as well as strappy heels.
According to People, Turner wore the Irina Halter Dress by Retrofête, which retails for $1,495. The playful party dress comes in nude and silver or white and silver, and it’s currently sold out in all sizes.
Several high-profile folks wished Turner a happy birthday on her Instagram post, including Gemma Chan, hairstylist Christian Wood, and Cara Delevingne.
The actress once stated the 1 article of clothing in her closet that’s most prized
Sophie Turner wasn’t always a fashionista. While speaking to W Magazine in 2023, she admitted that she hated anything she wore in high school. Now, she wears clothes that make her feel her best and is no longer “sucked in” by the short-lived trends.
“My style has evolved, I think, from being someone who was sucked in by micro trends to somebody who wears clothes based on how they make me feel,” she stated. Turned added that she considers her style to be “strong, constructed, and sleek. I have typical silhouettes I like to wear, colors I know that work for me, but comfort is always my thing.”
Turner added that she does have a prized article of clothing in her closet. “It’s 100% my custom LV wedding dress,” she said.
Nicolas Ghesquière, Louis Vuitton’s Artistic Director of Women’s Collections, designed the gown, according to People. The dress took 75 hours of work by 10 embroiderers. Each panel of the dress has 50,400 crystal eclats and 50,400 white beads. And the veil alone took 48 hours of embroidery.
Sophie Turner said she did a lot of ‘self-work’ ahead of turning 30
While many young actresses regret turning 30, Sophie Turner was happy to see her milestone birthday.
“I’m so looking forward to it,” she told Gayle King on CBS Mornings. “In the run-up to my 30th, I’ve been really doing a lot of self-work, because I want to enter this new chapter of my life really confident in myself. I want to know myself as well as I can. So, I’ve been doing a hell of a lot of therapy the past few months, and now I feel really ready to go into my 30s.”
As for what Turner hopes to get out of her future, she said she wants to “work a lot” and have “peace and quiet.” And, of course, she wants to spend time with her children.
