Darrell Sheets found dead in Arizona

Around 2 a.m. on April 22, officers responded to “a reported deceased individual,” according to a department press release.

“Upon arrival, officers located a male subject who suffered from what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head,” the release continued. “The male was pronounced deceased on scene, and the Lake Havasu City Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Unit was notified and responded to the scene to assume the investigation.”

Sheets was known as “The Gambler” on the popular A&E reality show, which followed people who bid on abandoned storage units in the hopes of making a profit on the contents. He scored several big finds during his time on the show, including Picassos and a valuable comic book collection. He retired from Storage Wars in 2023 and opened an antique store in Lake Havasu.

“Im so sorry for what you were going through. I hope you’re doing better wherever you are,” one wrote.

“Hate that he was suffering & did this. Loved the gambler on the show,” another commented.
