Swizz Beatz, born Kasseem Dean, and Alicia Keys’ romance, which blossomed in the late 2000s, is often described as a partnership rooted in both mutual admiration and creative synergy. The couple married on July 31, 2010, after several years of dating, having first connected in the ’90s. While they didn’t initially have a romantic connection, they reconnected in 2008 and hit it off. Keys and Beatz have two sons, Egypt, 15, and Genesis, 10, and have been inseparable since their wedding day.

In July 2025, rumors swirled that Swizz cheated on Keys. This led to speculation that Swizz fathered a child with another woman during his marriage. While several YouTubers picked up on the sinister rumor, Swizz and Keys just proved there’s no truth to it. On Sept. 2, 2025, he posted a video to Instagram of himself and Keys happily dancing.

The Shade Room picked up the video and posted it to their Instagram. In response, Swizz commented on the post and addressed the rumors.

People rather believe fake gossip instead of the truth because they’re miserable we have nothing to do with that !!! Bless up !! Whose should I put on this Beat ???? [sic].”

Swizz Beatz’s ex-wife called out Alicia Keys on Twitter for an alleged affair

Before marrying Alicia Keys, Swizz Beatz was married to Mashonda Tifrere. The two tied the knot in 2004 and had a son, Kasseem Dean Jr., born in 2006. Their marriage was highly publicized in the music world, in part because of Swizz’s rising profile as a producer and artist. Despite initial promises of a lifelong partnership, the marriage ended in divorce in 2010, amid reports of personal and professional tensions. Swizz and Mashonda have since maintained a co-parenting relationship.

Tifrere previously came after Keys on Twitter. In 2009, she posted that Keys “destroyed” her family and alleged that her husband had an affair with the R&B singer.

“My concern with [Alicia Keys] is no longer the fact that she assisted in destroying a family but that she has the audacity to make these selfish comments about love and wanting to be with someone, even after knowing their situation,” Tifrere wrote, according to Vibe. “I feel that after [one] and a half years of you hiding this affair and acting like it [doesn’t] exist, that now is the time to confront it, since you talk so openly about it now …. You have no idea how much pain I was caused because of this affair.”

The ‘If I Ain’t Got You’ singer previously discussed her marriage secrets

Despite divorce rumors and past controversies, Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys continue to prove that they have one of the strongest marriages in the celebrity world. In 2024, Keys opened up to People about her marriage secrets.

“I spent a lot of relationships not really saying how I actually felt, and they fell apart,” says Keys. “If you can’t speak your truth, then you can’t be yourself. That’s a key! I don’t worry about speaking to him, even about the hard things, and I think he feels the same. I know that I can tell him what I really feel.”

Keys also said she and Swizz “laugh a lot,” as they embrace their “really silly” sides.
