Rumors have been swirling that the “Karma” singer will be the featured performer at the next championship came, especially since she announced her engagement to Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce in August.
Roger Goodell says NFL would ‘love’ to have Taylor Swift at the 2026 Super Bowl
Now, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell is weighing in on the possibility that Swift will appear at the next halftime show, which will take place on February 8, 2026.
“We would always love to have Taylor play. She is a special, special talent, and obviously she would be welcome at any time,” he told Today’s Savannah Guthrie on September 3.
Goodell implied that negotiations might already be underway to have Swift perform during Super Bowl LX at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.
“I can’t tell you anything about it,” Goodell said when Guthrie asked if a Swift performance was in the works.
“It’s a maybe,” he added.
Jay-Z’s Roc Nation is in charge of producing the Super Bowl halftime shows. Goodell joked that he was waiting for the Grammy-winning rapper to sign off on Swift’s appearance.
“I’m waiting on my friend Jay-Z,” he said “It’s in his hands. I’m waiting for the smoke to come out.”
Insider says ‘Karma’ singer is in ‘negotiations’ for the next halftime show
Meanwhile, an insider told The Daily Mail that Swift’s people are indeed talking to the NFL about next year’s big game.
“Negotiations are happening with Taylor to potentially do the next Super Bowl,” the source said. “The NFL would like to make the announcement sometime right before Thanksgiving.”
While Swift is reportedly interested in a halftime show performance, it’s hardly the top item on her to-do list. In fact, she’d be find putting it off for now.
Swift “would love to do the show a few years from now so Travis can experience it and not be in the locker room if the Chiefs just so happened to be in the game,” the insider claimed. “At the end of the day, though she wants to do it eventually, she doesn’t have to do it at all – her career is just fine as it is.”
While Swift has never performed at the Super Bowl, she’s been a familiar sight at NFL games since she started dating Kelce in 2023. She was in the crowd in 2024 when the Chiefs won the championship. Earlier this year, she also cheered him and the Chiefs on during Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans. The Chiefs lost that game to the Philadelphia Eagles. Kendrick Lamar was the halftime show performer.
