The Apple TV+ espionage thriller Tehran, an International Emmy Award–winning series that follows Mossad hacker‑agent Tamar Rabinyan as she undertakes high‑stakes undercover missions, has steadily built a global audience since its 2020 debut. After a long delay, its third season premiered in January 2026. Apple renewed the series for a fourth season, with production underway in late 2025 in Athens, Greece. Sadly, producer and co-creator Dana Eden was found dead in a hotel in Greece in early 2026. Here’s what that could mean for Tehran Season 4.

Dana Eden, the 52‑year‑old Israeli television producer and co‑creator of the Emmy‑winning espionage drama Tehran, was found dead in her hotel room in Athens, Greece, on Feb. 15, while overseeing the filming of the show’s highly anticipated fourth season. Greek police have ordered an autopsy and reviewed hotel surveillance footage. And they said early evidence points to a suspected suicide with no current indication of foul play.

“This is a moment of great sorrow for the family, friends, and colleagues,” production company Donna and Shula Productions stated, according to The Hollywood Reporter. “The production company wishes to clarify that rumors regarding a criminal or nationalistic-related death are not true and are unfounded.”

It’s unclear exactly what this means for Tehran Season 4. Some reports suggest the series halted production following Eden’s death. However, the showrunners have not formally stated this. At minimum, it seems likely that the series’ production will experience a delay as the crew mourns this loss. Apple TV+ and production partners have not yet released details about the show’s future schedule or a restructuring of the show’s leadership.
