One Battle After Another is garnering a ton of attention in 2026 thanks to the standout performances from its cast. Teyana Taylor took on the role of Perfidia Beverly Hills. She received a nomination for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role at the 2026 Actor Awards in March 2026.

Taylor stunned in a gray-and-white Thom Browne gown that included over 400,000 sequins and 175,000 beads, according to People. And her daughter, Rue Rose, sweetly helped Taylor with her dress while on the red carpet. After Rue helped her mother lay out the dress’s train, she took her mom’s hand as they walked. As for what Rue wore, the 5-year-old sported a knee-length pink skirt paired with a light blue striped cardigan.

In addition to twirling around at the event, Rue sang “Let It Go” from Frozen. And the moment captured everyone’s hearts. And she joked to interviewers that she was “charging” her famous mother for styling her dress. Taylor also reflected on how special it feels to bring her daughter to these events and how Rue loves the spotlight.

“I just get to stare at her, and I’m just like, even on the red carpet, she stood on the dot by herself, and I see all the light, the flash is going even crazier. I’m thinking it’s me,” Taylor noted. “I’m thinking I’m chewing it, right? I look over to the side — it’s her! They weren’t even taking a picture of me.”

Rue then gave her own commentary. “This is such an honor for me being here and I wanted to thank you guys for my mom and this wonderful day,” the child said on the red carpet. “And all of ya’lls outfits look very good. And I’m mostly saying this for my mom. This is actually such an honor.” She finished her statement by noting that she also hoped to “get a trophy” one day.

Taylor told her daughter that she can do “anything” she puts her mind to. When Rue questioned this, Taylor said, “Because a mother knows!”

“You are going to be everything,” Taylor added. “You’re everything right now. And when you get older, you’re going to collect every single trophy, because it’s already yours, and it’s already written.”

The ‘One Battle After Another’ actor said she’s ‘deeply emotional’ over her Oscar nomination

Teyana Taylor received a nomination for Best Supporting Actress at the Academy Awards in 2026 for her role in One Battle After Another. She reflected on the honor following the nomination.

“I fell asleep last night watching Pretty Woman, thinking about happy endings and how impossible they sometimes feel … and I woke up realizing I’ve been living in one that God has been preparing me for my own fairytale ending,” she said in a statement, according to 93.7 WSTW.

“To be an Academy Award nominee is beyond anything I ever allowed myself to fully believe was possible,” she continued. “I am so deeply emotional, so humbled, and so grateful for every person who has walked this road with me & honored to be nominated alongside these amazing women in my category.”

While her “career has been filled with battles, doubts, and moments of deep uncertainty,” she now feels that “dreams really do survive.”

The actor also told People that she lost her voice for “days” following her nomination.

“So after the fourth name, I was like, ‘Oh my God.’ And they said my name, and we just all started screaming,” Taylor said. “I lost my voice for maybe like four or five days, honestly.”

She added that she’ll never forget her mother’s reaction.

“My mother, because she, first of all, she has asthma,” Taylor added. “So every single time I get a nomination, we have to calm her down. I literally get into protective mode.”
