‘The Bachelorette’ Spoilers: ‘No One Should Be Surprised’ By Outcome Taylor Frankie Paul’s Season, Insider Says
[Warning: Potential spoilers ahead for The Bachelorette Season 22.]
Taylor Frankie Paul’s season of The Bachelorette ends exactly the way many fans have predicted, according to Reality Steve.
On Monday, Steve – known for his generally accurate revelations about the outcomes of popular reality shows – dropped some major spoilers for The Bachelorette Season 22.
Reality Steve spoils ‘The Bachelorette’ Season 22
The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star, 31, has her pick of 22 men when her season of The Bachelor spinoff begins. By the time she gets to the hometown dates, she’s narrowed it down to four guys: Shane Parton, 27, from Atlanta; Lew Evans, 32, from Salt Lake City; Doug Mason, 28, from San Diego; and Casey Hux, 30, from Nashville.
Taylor sends Casey home after the hometown dates, Steve shared on Instagram. Then, Lew is sent packing after overnight dates, leaving just Shane and Doug in the running for the final rose.
“Taylor got engaged to Doug Mason,” he wrote. “However, since filming ended, Taylor and Doug have broke up. And yes, it’s because of Dakota,” Steve added, referring to Dakota Mortensen, Taylor’s on-again, off-again boyfriend and father of her 23-month-old son, Ever.
Taylor Frankie Paul still isn’t over Dakota Mortensen
In The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives Season 4 finale – which recently dropped on Hulu – viewers learned that Taylor spent the night with Dakota the day before she left to film The Bachelorette. And the pair’s rollercoaster relationship apparently continued after she returned home from filming. On March 16, it was reported that filming on SLOMW Season 5 had been paused following an alleged domestic violence incident between Taylor and Dakota.
“Taylor was never over Dakota,” Steve wrote. He says that in January, roughly a month after she got engaged to Doug on The Bachelorette, the pair met up in Salt Lake City, where Taylor ended things with Doug. The exact reasons for the breakup aren’t clear, but Steve thinks Taylor’s unresolved feelings for Dakota are to blame.
“If Taylor says it’s anything other than Dakota, she’s not being honest with herself or the audience,” he wrote.
“So yes, exactly what everyone predicted would happen before this season even started filming is exactly what ended up happening,” he added. “No one should be surprised that this was the ultimate outcome.”
‘The Bachelorette’ criticized for casting Taylor Frankie Paul
Taylor’s casting on The Bachelorette has met with a mixed response, with some feeling that it’s primarily a way for Disney – which own both ABC and Hulu – to cross-promote two of its most popular shows. (“Corporate synergy,” as Steve put it in his post.)
Others feel that Taylor is not a good fit for the Bachelor franchise.
“This is so upsetting,” The Bachelor alum Sydney Warner wrote on Instagram (via People) after learning of Taylor’s pre-show night with Dakota.
“To watch this and see the soon to be lead completely disrespect the stage that she has been given, the men who put their entire lives on hold to come and meet her is horrible,” she added. “What has happened to morals and values?”
The Bachelorette Season 22 premieres Sunday, March 22 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC. Episodes stream the next day on Hulu.
