‘The McBee Dynasty’ Patriarch Steven McBee Sr. Sentenced to 2 Years in Prison for Fraud: Family Reacts
Steven McBee Sr. will be spending the next couple of years in prison.
On Thursday, a federal judge sentenced The McBee Dynasty patriarch to 24 months behind bars for a fraud scheme that bilked insurers and the federal government out of millions of dollars.
Steven McBee Sr. pleaded guilty to crop insurance fraud
McBee Sr., 52, pleaded guilty in November 2024 to one count of crop insurance fraud. He admitted to making false reports regarding his corn and soybeans crop yields and incorrectly reporting planting dates in order to reap substantial federal crop insurance benefits.
In addition to his time behind bars, McBee Sr. will be subject to two years of supervised release, People reports. He must also pay $4,022,124 in restitution. Last month, he was ordered to hand over three expensive designer watches to help satisfy the judgement. The Missouri farmer and rancher must report by December 1 to begin his sentence.
McBee Sr. appeared with his family on The McBee Dynasty: Real American Cowboys, which premiered on Peacock in 2024. The show moved to Bravo for its second season, which debuted in June. But McBee Sr. was largely absent from the new episodes due to his legal problems. Bravo renewed the show for a third season shortly ahead of McBee Sr.’s sentencing.
‘The McBee Dynasty’ family rallies behind dad
McBee Sr.’s family is standing by him as he prepares to head to prison.
“Love ya dad,” his son, Steven McBee Jr. wrote on his Instagram Story. “Whole family is here for you.”
“We will get through anything together,” son Cole McBe wrote in his own social media post. “To the hardest working man I know, it’s our turn to be here for you. We got you dad.”
In an interview with Bravo’s Daily Dish in August, Steven Jr. admitted that the family was apprehensive about what was next for their dad but that they knew they’d be able to cope with the challenge.
“We’re focusing on the positive things we have going, of which there are so many, but I’d be lying if I said that black cloud hasn’t been hanging over us every second of every day since we first found out,” he said. “We’re ready to get past that day, deal with whatever comes of it, and move on, to say the least. We know no matter what, if we stick together as a family, we’ll make it through anything.”
The McBee Dynasty: Real American Cowboys is streaming on Peacock.
