Cardi B just got candid about thieves who stole her credit card. The hip-hop artist is currently selling out arenas on her “Little Miss Drama Tour,” and she had to deal with someone racking up tens of thousands of dollars in her name. Here’s what she said about the incident — and where the thieves headed with her credentials.

Thieves put $40,000 from purchases at Saks Fifth Avenue on Cardi B’s credit card

Cardi B is protective of her wealth, as she didn’t grow up rich. The rapper slowly but surely made her way to the top. Now, in 2026, she’s selling out arenas with her “Little Miss Drama Tour,” though she remembers what it was like not to have the money she has today.

While Cardi can empathize with those who don’t have millions of dollars, she doesn’t condone thievery. According to TMZ, the rapper discovered that her AMEX card was recently missing. In a clip, she noted that she initially didn’t think much of it. However, she then saw a charge of around $40,000 at Saks Fifth Avenue. Then, another $20,000 charge at Apple popped up.

“Let me tell you something about me,” Cardi B said in the clip. “Ya’ll know Cardi B don’t f***in’ play about that bread. You know I don’t play about my money, right?” She then went on to explain how she receives notifications for every single purchase on her credit card, no matter how small. Cardi immediately saw the Saks Fifth Avenue $40,000 charge after it was made.

“So I’m like, what the f***? Forty thousand dollars, Amex on Saks?” she continued. While she initially thought an assistant might have used her card, it still raised red flags. “I haven’t been buying clothes like that ever since I’ve been on tour. I haven’t really been buying anything.” Then, 35 minutes later, she saw the $20,000 purchase at Apple.

“Some weird s*** was happening,” Cardi added. She explained how her accountant also saw the charges and called her immediately. Cardi completely cut off the credit card and called the stores.

“Ya’ll going to jail,” she said. “I got clear, clear pictures of you motherf***ers trying to get money out of a Chase. … I got clear pictures of ya’ll in Saks, and I got clear pictures with ya’ll on Apple, because one thing about me, I don’t play about my f***ing money.”

Cardi B spoke about her upbringing in the Bronx on Aspire with Emme Grede in April 2026. “I hated being poor,” Cardi noted, adding that she knew that staying in the Bronx was never her end game. She also wanted to make her mother proud, though she didn’t think that school was for her.

Overall, Cardi wants to leave a legacy for her kids. And she also recognized that making money in the entertainment industry often doesn’t feel fair.

“I feel like I’m making somebody super, super rich, and I need to make me super, super rich,” she continued. “I feel like I’m helping everybody, and I’m getting the short end of the stick. So it’s like, I have to find what makes me happy. … It’s like, you know what? I’m going to make a business about things that I really like, about things that I really put my time in, and no, I’m not going to make somebody else rich off of it. I’m going to make myself rich off of it.”

She also previously admitted to changing her music to ensure it sells.

“You gotta follow the trends, it is what it is,” she told The Fader in 2017. “At the end of the day, you need to be with what sells. Sometimes it kinda crushes me because I wanna do music like how I like, but if it’s not selling and it’s not gonna work, then I’ll change my sound.”
