Several celebrities were out in full force to support the New York Knicks during their playoff run, but the stars getting the most attention now are Tina Fey and Timothée Chalamet. This comes after the comedic actress and Marty Supreme actor were seen seated next to each other in the first row of a game against the Atlanta Hawks on April 28.

Chalamet is now facing backlash for what many on social media have dubbed “inconsiderate” behavior towards Fey.

X users slammed him, posting, “Timothee Chalamet if you don’t stop manspreading on Tina Fey I swear to god [sic],” and “Bro sitting like he owns the whole row,” and “I hate this little rat so bad bro show some respect to your elders???”

Another person commented on what may have been going through Fey’s mind at the time, writing, “She’s thinking he shouldn’t manspread so she could be comfortable. What a jerk.”

Here’s what a body language expert just revealed about the Dune star’s courtside actions.

Inbaal Honigman is a celebrity psychic and body language expert who has been reading Tarot since the ’90s. She has appeared in the media for more than 20 years, offering her expertise and predictions for several outlets, including Big Brother’s Little Brother, Elle Magazine, and talkSPORT radio, to name a few.

Speaking on behalf of Casino.ca, Honigman told Showbiz Cheat Sheet, “Chalamet’s manspreading next to a visibly uncomfortable Fey reads as an expression of dominance. It suggests a sense of perceived superiority, as though he is important enough not to consider whether his posture is encroaching on others’ space.

“That said, Timothée is not the only one adopting this posture in the front row. On Fey’s other side, her former 30 Rock co-star Tracy Morgan also sits with his knees spread wide. Similarly, on Jenner’s other side, Ben Stiller sits with his wife, also taking up a notable amount of space. Tina Fey appears visibly uneasy.”

Hongiman added, “The veteran SNL head writer, not known for masking her emotions, displays a neutral expression that conveys discomfort: lips pressed tightly together and eyes cast downward. Her face suggests she would rather be elsewhere. Her body language reinforces this impression.

“Fey’s hands are clasped together, palms joined and tucked between her knees, as she appears to shrink herself to fit the situation. She narrows her posture to accommodate those around her, seemingly making space for the men and their presence. Her frame tightens, indicating a desire to avoid contact, even at the expense of her own comfort.”

As for Chalamet, the expert observed, “By contrast, Chalamet appears unconcerned with physical proximity. His knees are spread wide enough to press against both neighboring seats, indicating a disregard of personal space boundaries.

“Fey’s discomfort is further reflected in her upright posture and controlled stance. She holds herself rigidly, seemingly trying to avoid leaning toward Timothée, who looks away from her and appears to miss these subtle cues. His head turned to the side functions as a blocking gesture, suggesting that by not looking, he avoids engaging with or acknowledging her discomfort.”

Showbiz Cheat Sheet acknowledges that conditions and cultures can impact body language and is sensitive to all backgrounds.
