‘Teen Mom’ Alum Claims One ‘Last’ Season of the Show Is in the Works
One more season of Teen Mom is in the works, claims show alum Cory Wharton.
Cory Wharton hints ‘Teen Mom: The Next Chapter’ Season 3 could be happening
New episodes of Teen Mom: The Next Chapter last aired in 2025. But Wharton – who’s previously said the show was canceled – is now hinting that it could return to MTV.
“Actually, things are moving in the right direction, that’s all I’ll say about that,” Cory said on Snapchat, according to The Ashley’s Reality Roundup.
“… I will give you guys a little inside scoop…I had a talk with Paramount. I talked with someone with Paramount and there’s a game plan to get this thing going, to get this show back, there’s a game plan,” he continued. “I just want this game plan to actually form and they execute it.”
Wharton added that fans wanted to see where the cast members are today.
“There’s an interest out there. Come on! Teen Mom, let’s get a last season!” he said. “Let’s get a roundup season [to show] where every family is and what they’ve got going on. We need one more in the chamber.”
MTV has recently canceled other reality shows, including ‘Jersey Shore Family Vacation’
While Wharton – who shares a daughter with Teen Mom and Are You the One? alum Cheyenne Floyd – remains hopeful about the show’s prospects, there are no guarantees it will return, especially as the future of MTV appears to be in flux.
In the past year, MTV has decided not to renew several of its long-running shows. In September 2025, Catfish: The TV Show was canceled after nine seasons. Soon after, clip show Ridiculousness was also canceled. And earlier this year, the network announced that Jersey Shore Family Vacation would ended after its upcoming ninth season.
Earlier this year, Wharton reflected on his time on Teen Mom in an Instagram post hinting the show was over.
“Is Teen Mom canceled???” he wrote. “All I can do is look back and reminisce. I’m so thankful for this opportunity. I could truly say that it changed my life. I got to show the world me as a DAD not just as a competitor on the challenge, but as a a young father, trying to navigate this thing that we call life.”
“I’m so thankful for this opportunity that MTV gave us years ago … thank you for making this happen for making it possible for me to achieve my dreams,” he added. “But I think it’s time we put a bow on this & please believe we aren’t stopping here.”
Teen Mom: The Next Chapter is streaming on Paramount+.
