Ja Rule’s decades‑long rivalry with 50 Cent’s camp, including G‑Unit affiliates like Tony Yayo and Uncle Murda, took an unexpected turn in early 2026. The three ended up in a heated verbal altercation aboard a Delta flight from San Francisco to New York. The dispute, rooted in a feud that stretches over 20 years and has played out through diss tracks and social media jabs, reignited in a mid‑air clash where insults were traded and a pillow was reportedly thrown. Yayo and Murda have since discussed the episode on their podcast. Here’s what they said about the situation.

Ja Rule is Deeply Bothered by 50 Cent’s ‘Diddy’ Documentary; Calls Him A Rat

On Feb. 8, 2026, a routine Delta Air Lines flight from San Francisco to New York City turned into a viral moment in hip‑hop history. Ja Rule got into a heated mid‑air confrontation with Tony Yayo and Uncle Murda, longtime affiliates of 50 Cent’s G‑Unit. Video of the incident showed the three trading insults and raising their voices in the cabin before takeoff. Ja Rule appeared to throw a pillow at Yayo’s head as tensions flared. The disagreement quickly spread across social media and drew reactions from fellow artists, prompting Ja Rule to later apologize.

Yayo and Murda discussed what happened from their perspective on their podcast, The Real Report. Yayo noted that he “knew it wasn’t going to work out” when he saw Ja Rule sit in front of him and Murda.

“Shout out to Delta Airlines for keeping the peace,” Yayo continued. “But I knew it wasn’t going to work out.”

“I wanted to hit him,” Murda added. “Yay said chill, don’t f*** up the flight.” Murda added that once he decided he wasn’t going to hit Ja Rule, he wanted to “troll him.” And he knew nothing serious was going to happen. “We were just having fun with this s***. It was actually funny.”

Both Yayo and Murda agreed that taking a swing at Ja Rule would’ve compromised their future flights with Delta and their podcast, which they knew wasn’t worth it.

“It was actually funny,” Yayo continued. “It was something that you could look back and laugh at, you know what I’m saying? Because, like I said … Ja could’ve got on the plane, put his bags up there, not said nothing, put his headphones on, and watched one of the new good movies on Delta Airlines. … So, I’m thinking about my flights. … We would’ve been 86’d off all flights.”

Overall, the two noted that the viral moment was “fun” and “hilarious.”

“Ja Rule, thank you for the promo, bro,” Yayo added.

Tony Yayo and Uncle Murda gave insight into what went down from their perspective

Aside from not wanting to get kicked off Delta Airlines flights for good, Tony Yayo and Uncle Murda gave their perspective regarding what went down on the plane that those watching the viral video didn’t see.

“And once the stewardess said, ‘Stop! Shut up!’ I’m smart enough to know, don’t argue with the stewardess,” Yayo said on the podcast, according to Hollywood Unlocked. “So, fast forward, me and Ja, we go to the front of the plane. He’s on one side. I’m on the other side. They’re like, ‘Yo, is everything good?’ I said, ‘I’m good. I’m ready to fly.'”

“This is the funny part,” Yayo continued. “He’s talking all this, ‘I threw a pillow because he’s soft.’ We go to the front of the plane. He’s on one side. I’m on one side. They said, ‘Are you good?’ Right? Because Murda did some Brooklyn bulls*** where he disappeared into the crowd, and he started the whole sh**. So, now, stewardess and everybody’s on me.”

When they returned to their seats, Yayo noted that Ja Rule’s pillow was in his section.

“I threw his pillow in the section where he was at, and that’s on everything I love,” he continued. “Sat down. Stewardess came, whispered in his ear. He’s texting on the phone. He leaves, gets off the plane, he comes back. He’s quiet as a church mouse. And he’s like, ‘Yo, it’s all right. It’s all right.’…”

Murda and Yayo noted that Ja Rule wanted to “make a scene,” but he didn’t really want trouble.

Ja Rule issued an apology following the plane clash

Following the plane clash, Ja Rule issued an apology. He posted a screenshot of his apology from an ABC News broadcast.

“I’m not proud of my behavior,” he said. “It’s goofy to me. I’m a grown man about to be a proud grandfather and I wish that video of me wasn’t out there either. I don’t like people taking me out of my character, so for that I apologize to my wife, family, fans, business, and investment partners.”

Ja Rule’s statement ended with him noting that he’s “still a man” and “going to stand my ground. I don’t start trouble.”
