‘Vanderpump Rules’ Alum Kristen Doute Welcomes Baby No. 1
Kristen Doute of Vanderpump Rules and The Valley is a mom! The Bravo star and her fiancé, Luke Broderick, welcomed their first child on June 11, they announced on Friday.
“Kaia Lily Broderick, we’ve never known a love like this until you,” Doute, 42, shared on Instagram, alone with a photo of her daughter’s tiny hand.
“She’s here, and we still can’t believe it. Luke is even hotter as a dad, and I just feel so lucky,” Doute told Us Weekly. “And even though I haven’t slept or showered in two days, seeing our daughter and finally being able to hold her makes it all worth it. We’re completely overwhelmed with love and so grateful for her— our lives are already changed completely.”
Bravo stars congratulate Kristen Doute
Doute and Broderick have been dating since 2022 and got engaged in September 2024. Their daughter’s name, which means “the sea” in Hawaiian, is a nod to the Aloha State where the couple got engaged.
Congratulations quickly rolled in from Doute’s fellow Bravo and Vanderpump Rules personalities.
“Earth angel,” commented Tom Schwartz.
“Congratulations!!!!!!! Beautiful name. Beautiful girl,” wrote Schena Shay.
“Congratulations to you both so so much,” chimed in Stassi Schroeder.
“My girl is here!!! Auntie Jas loves you so much!!” Jasmine Goode of The Valley commented.
Brittany Cartwright from The Valley and Vanderpump Rules was also looking forward to being part of the little one’s life. “Beautiful girl,” she wrote. “Auntie loves you.”
Kristen Doute opened up about her fertility struggles
Doute knew she wanted to be a mom, but getting pregnant wasn’t easy.
“After our pregnancy loss last year, we decided to start trying in early 2024,” she told People when announcing her pregnancy. “I knew my age could be a factor in conceiving, so Luke and I discussed going for an extra push, a little help.”
After a meeting with a fertility specialist, the couple decided to try intrauterine insemination. The procedure worked on the first try.
“The two weeks following the IUI procedure felt like years. To get a correct outcome on a pregnancy test, 2 weeks time had to pass and I had to wait it out but in my heart I knew it had worked. I tested one day early and got the big PREGNANT result staring back at me,” she recalled.
“I was relieved, overwhelmed, happy, excited and nervous. The second I told Luke, he wasn’t surprised, but was SO happy that IUI worked the first time (we were prepared that it may not),” Doute added. “He was joyful and beyond excited, to say the least! Our due date is in June and we are really looking forward to expanding our little family and becoming parents!”
