‘Vanderpump Rules’: Bravo Drops Teaser for ‘Completely Different’ Reboot
Lisa Vanderpump is getting ready to school a new generation of SUR-vers.
On Friday, Bravo dropped the first teaser for the rebooted version of Vanderpump Rules. The 12th season of the long-running reality series will feature an entirely new cast after the network decided to clean house after the fallout from Scandoval and a lackluster season 11.
New faces, same rules in rebooted ‘Vanderpump Rules,’ Lisa Vanderpump says

In the brief clip featured on Bravo’s Instagram, Vanderpump teases the return of the iconic series, which follows a group of employees at her Beverly Hills restaurant, SUR.
“The faces may have changed, but my rules, they’ve stayed the same,” she says in the clip, which also notes that it’s “time for a shit” and promises that the new season of Pump Rules is “coming soon.”
“New shift. Same rules. #PumpRules Season 12 shakes things up soon,” reads the caption.
Bravo has not yet announced a premiere date or officially revealed the new cast of SUR-vers for Vanderpump Rules Season 12. But Jason Cohen and Chris Hahn, who both appeared on Netflix’s Dated and Related, and model Marcus Johnson, are rumored to be part of the group replacing OGs like Tom Sandoval and Lala Kent.
New ‘Pump Rules’ goes ‘back to basics,’ producer says
So, will the new cast live up to the show’s original stars, many of whom went on to become reality TV mainstays? Vanderpump Rules producer Alex Baskin says the newbies are “very different” from the group that was part of the show when it premiered in 2013. But he believes the same ingredients are there for a successful season.
“I am so excited for the audience to watch a series that has a lot of the hallmarks of the original but feels completely different,” he recently told The Hollywood Reporter. “We are not trying to make the series that we did the first time around, and it’s sort of got back to the basic principles of that show, which is falling around a group of interconnected coworkers and friends at SUR.”
The new Pump Rules stars are part of Gen Z, Baskin pointed out, “and their relationship to each other, to the world, are very different, but it still has all of the really fun, juicy ingredients.”
“There is a lot of dating within the group, a lot of hookups within the group,” he teased. “The friendships are deep, it’s messy and complicated and really fun.”
Baskin urged skeptical longtime fans to give the reboot a chance.
“I think they’re going to be won over,” he said. “I think they’re going to see that the show naturally came together, because, again, we didn’t force together a group that didn’t exist, and it’s a lot of fun, and it really captures the life stage that we saw in the early days of Vanderpump Rules and as opposed to the later life stage [in the later seasons]. I’m excited to reverse everyone’s skepticism and convert that into enjoyment and passion for the new series.”
