Serena Williams gifted Venus Williams a ‘beautiful yacht’ as a wedding gift

Venus Williams initially tied the knot with Italian actor and model Andrea Preti in a romantic ceremony on Sept. 18, 2025, in Ischia, Italy. Then, the couple celebrated their love with a second wedding in Palm Beach, Florida, in December 2025 to make the union legally official and honor her Florida roots.

“We had this dream to do our wedding in Italy,” the tennis legend told Vogue. “But we didn’t have enough time to do the paperwork — because I’m a foreigner, it can take about eight months. So we decided to have a second wedding.”

The Palm Beach festivities unfolded over a lavish five‑day celebration at the couple’s estate. The celebration featured pool parties, a bridal shower, sports games with friends and family, and an intimate ceremony. Venus noted that her famous sister, Serena Williams, gifted her a yacht on the first day of the wedding celebration, so they could party with friends and family.

“They always say weddings go so fast, and they do,” Venus said. “We started on Monday. Serena gave us this gift of a beautiful yacht, and she arranged all the food, everything. We had 10 to 12 of our closest family and friends who were in town on the boat, and we were singing, dancing, gossiping, and just enjoying each other.”

On Tuesday, Venus had her bridal shower. Then, on Wednesday, the couple took friends and family to a romantic dinner in Miami. On Thursday, the couple held a sports day, and finally, on Friday, they held a courthouse wedding ceremony.

Serena Williams made a sweet Instagram post for her sister’s big day

Serena and Venus Williams have both a friendly rivalry and deep loyalty to each other, and they seem closer than ever in adulthood. In December 2025, Serena posted a series of sweet photos of Venus on Instagram to celebrate her sister’s wedding day. The first photo shows Venus in a wedding dress and veil, smiling and leaning into Serena. Serena is also wearing a white dress with detached beaded sleeves.

“My sister’s keeper. Venus, where do I even begin?” Serena captioned the post of her older sister. “From the backyard courts to the biggest stages in the world, you’ve always led with grace, strength, and a heart bigger than any trophy. Watching you step into this next chapter surrounded by love felt like watching the sun rise …steady, powerful, and full of promise.”

Serena went on to call Venus her “built-in best friend,” “protector,” “teacher,” and “reminder to always walk in purpose.”

“To love, to partnership, to laughter, and to a lifetime of choosing each other every single day,” Serena continued. “I couldn’t be prouder to stand beside you, not just today, but always.”

Venus Williams received a lot of wedding planning help from her sister

In September 2025, Serena Williams spoke about her sister to People. She mentioned that Venus Williams had “so much going on” ahead of the big wedding day.

“We talk every day now because we have so much going on,” Serena said. “Well, let me rephrase that. Venus has so much planning that she’s doing that I’m just talking to her all the time.”

“‘Can you help me arrange this? Can you call’?” Serena continued about her sister. She added that Venus “wanted literally 14 hairstyles.” Thankfully, Serena was able to sort through all the styles and give Venus a PDF of the best options.

“I’m the person that arranges things, I’m like the planner,” she continued. “I plan everything like the event. I’m the person that gets things done.”
