There’s a new villain in the Plath family. With Ethan Plath’s outspoken ex Olivia Plath largely out of the picture, the close-knit conservative family has turned their attention to a fresh target: Micah Plath’s girlfriend Veronica Peters.

On Wednesday, TLC dropped the first trailer for Welcome to Plathville Season 7, which premieres July 22. In the two-minute teaser, Veronica opens up about her strained relationship with some members of Micah’s family, while Ethan warns her that she’ll have to fall in line if she ever wants to be a Plath herself.

Veronica and Moriah Plath ‘don’t talk anymore’

Veronica made her TV debut in the 2024 season of Welcome to Plathville. At the time, she and Micah were still in the honeymoon phase of their romance. But now, Veronica is questioning whether she really wants to commit to Micah – and tie herself to his messy family.

In the new trailer (via YouTube), Veronica confesses that she no longer speaks to Micah’s sister Moriah Plath, even though they were once close.

“I feel like I’ve not only lost a friend, but a sister,” she confesses. “And then I was the problem.”

Tellingly, Veronica’s falling out with Moriah seems to mirror the drama that Olivia had with her former sister-in-law. Olivia and Moriah were once close, especially as Moriah began to break free of her conservative upbringing. But the relationship fractured when Moriah accused Olivia of stealing her music, which Olivia insisted was not true.

Are the ‘Welcome to Plathville’ stars ‘out to get’ Veronica?

Veronica does not feel welcomed by Micah’s family, and her concerns are threatening to drive a wedge between Micah and his parents and siblings.

“Veronica thinks my family is out to get her,” Ethan says. “Olivia thought the same thing.”

Micah tries to play both sides.

“I’m trying to ride the line of not doing what I feel like Ethan did. He took Olivia’s side; didn’t talk to my mom or dad. I don’t want anything close to that,” he says.

But as Micah tries to smooth things over, Ethan decides to lay down the law.

“If you want to be part of this family, this is the price you pay,” Ethan tells Veronica, as his new girlfriend looks on. “You do have to…”

“I’m going to be honest,” Veronica cuts in. “I don’t know if I want to be part of the family.”

The trailer ends with Veronica on a video call with Olivia.

“I should have warned you,” Olivia says before the camera cuts to her having a conversation with Ethan. He asks her to “please stop.” But Olivia no longer cares about burning bridges with the Plaths. She has a one-word response to Ethan’s request: “No.”

Welcome to Plathville premieres Tuesday, July 22 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on TLC.
