Netflix has revealed more details about its 2026 release slate, and there’s good news for fans of some long-running shows.

Virgin River and Sweet Magnolias will both return with new seasons this year, the streamer confirmed. Here’s what we know about the new seasons of both small-town dramas.

‘Virgin River’ Season 7 premieres March 12

Virgin River Season 7 premieres Thursday, March 12.

“What a release! We have an official date. See y’all March 12th,” wrote Benjamin Hollingsworth, who plays Brady, on Instagram.

The new season of Virgin River picks up after Mel (Alexandra Breckenridge) and Jack (Martin Henderson) tied the knot in the season 6 finale. And there may be more happy news in store for the couple. The season ended with one of Mel’s pregnant patients approaching her about adopting her unborn child. Fans will also hopefully get answers to questions about what happened to Charmaine (Lauren Hammersley), who was MIA at Mel and Jack’s wedding. Later, Jack discovered her home ransacked and Charmaine no where to be found

‘Sweet Magnolias’ Season 5 premieres June 11

Sweet Magnolias Season 5 premieres Thursday, June 11.

“It’s official! JUNE 11th, the Magnolias are back with our beloved family and friends from Serenity and hopefully all of YOU!” series star JoAnna Garcia Swisher wrote on Instagram. “Spend the summer as we travel to the big apple and back again. A season of so many twists and turns I could barely keep up. But at the heart of it, Maddie, Helen, and Dana Sue are still loving and living life together! See you in June!”

Sweet Magnolias Season 4 ended with Maddie (Swisher) receiving a life-changing job offer. The only catch, the position with her publishing house would force her to leave Serenity – and her friends Helen (Heather Headey) and Dana Sue (Brooke Elliott) behind for New York City. Can the Magnolias weather the big change, and the distance? Whatever happens, it’s sure to be exciting.

“We are thrilled to let the Magnolias take Manhattan,” showrunner and executive producer Sheryl J. Anderson told Netflix’s Tudum. “Not only is this adventure huge fun, it’s also an opportunity to explore the facets of their relationships in a new context. While it’s crucial to have true friends in day-to-day life, it’s priceless to have them supporting you when you leap out of your comfort zone.”
