‘Welcome to Plathville’ Teases Rumored Fight Between Micah and Isaac at Lydia’s Wedding
The most dramatic season yet of Welcome to Plathville is just getting started.
The Plath family has been wracked by conflict in the seventh season of the TLC series. While daughter Lydia is blissfully in love and planning a wedding to her fiancé, Zac Wyse, her family is questioning her rush to the altar. Lydia’s elder brother Ethan Plath in particular has been openly hostile to Zac.
Meanwhile, parents Kim Plath and Barry Plath are still trying to finalize their contentious divorce, and Micah Plath’s relationship with his girlfriend Veronica Peters is on the brink after she discovered his pattern of infidelity. An angry Veronica has been lashing out at the rest of the Plaths, who she sees as conspiring against her. She’s even reached out to Ethan’s ex-wife Olivia Plath – who is now persona non grata to her former in-laws – to vent her frustration.
Ethan calls Veronica a ‘demon’ in ‘Welcome to Plathville’ mid-season teaser
The various rifts in the Plath family are on full display in a new teaser (via Instagram) for the remainder of Welcome to Plathville Season 7.
In the clip, an excited Lydia tries on wedding dresses while her skeptical mom Kim looks on. Later, the formerly squeaky clean Ethan shows off a sketch of his nude girlfriend, Teegan, to her seeming embarrassment. During a session with a therapist, Veronica accuses Micah of looking at “naked photos” of his brother’s girlfriend.
“He’ll end up in bed with her,” she says. “You’re not seeing her ever again. Ever.”
Even when Lydia’s wedding day arrives, the family can’t seem to set aside their differences.
Veronica – who Ethan describes as “quite a little demon” – declares that she won’t sit at the same table as Ethan and Teegan. Ethan would also likely prefer different seating arrangements.
“I despite her with the fury of a thousand suns,” he tells a producer.
Kim is going along with the wedding, albeit grudgingly.
“We all feel pressured into accepting somebody that we don’t know,” she says to Ethan.
Lydia Plath says her wedding was ‘very peaceful’
Despite the simmering anger and resentments, Lydia and Zac are blissfully unaware of the tension surrounding their wedding.
“The wedding was very peaceful,” she says.
“I didn’t feel like there was any drama,” he agrees.
But that couldn’t be further from the truth. For months, rumors have swirled online that Micah ended up in the hospital after a fistfight with his younger brother Isaac during Lydia’s wedding reception. In the teaser, there’s a brief shot of Micah’s battered face.
“So I got a couple stitches last night,” he says.
Post-fight, Veronica tries to support Micah during a sit down with some of the Plaths. But she’s the one in the hot seat.
“Why are you here?” Ethan asks. “You have a problem with everyone.”
But Veronica isn’t going to go quietly.
“Let’s just say if they keep messing with me, more bombs are gonna drop,” she says.
