‘When Calls the Heart’: Erin Krakow Says ‘I Do’ to Co-Star Ben Rosenbaum

Krakow announced the happy news in a June 23 Instagram post. The actor – who plays Elizabeth Thornton on the Hallmark Channel series – shared two photos of her and the Mike Hickam actor on their wedding day. She captioned the post with an infinity symbol. For the occasion, Krakow wore a simple but elegant white dress with short sleeves and a long, romantic veil; Rosenbaum donned a brown suit.
The happy couple hasn’t shared other details about their big day, but it sounds like some of their fellow When Calls the Heart cast members were there to see the pair say “I do.”
“Beautiful pictures, beautiful friends, beautiful husband and wife – xo,” wrote Kevin McGarry, who plays Krakow’s on-screen love interest, Mountie Nathan Grant.
“I’m still crying. My favourite pairing!” commented McGarry’s wife Kayla Wallace, who played Fiona for several seasons before moving on to Paramount+’s Landman. McGarry and Wallace wed in September 2024.
Congratulations also rolled in from other Hallmark stars, including Krakow’s It Was Always You co-star Tyler Hynes, Ride’s Tiera Skovbye, When Hope Calls star Morgan Kohan, and Tamera Mowry-Housley.
The ‘When Calls the Heart’ stars have been together for several years
Krakow and Rosenbaum have generally kept their relationship low-key and out of the public eye. They officially went public with their romance in February 2024, when she shared a photo of them kissing on her social media. Meanwhile, he shared an image of his phone’s lock screen, which featured a photo of Krakow.
“First thing I see when I wake up. Last thing I see before sleep. Happy Valentines Day,” he wrote on Instagram.
However, the couple had low-key confirmed dating rumors a year earlier, when they revealed they’d adopted a dog named Willoughby.
Last year, Krakow commented on how When Calls the Heart has sparked some real-life romances.
“I think there’s just always been a bit of magic in Hope Valley,” she told People. “There’s something so special about our show and the energy in Jamestown, where we shoot.”
“I do think there’s just something special about the show and the people involved,” Krakow added. “When you put a bunch of special people together in one place, connections are bound to be made.”
When Calls the Heart isn’t the only Hallmark production that’s led to an off-screen relationship. Chris McNally, who plays Lucas Bouchard on the show, is in a relationship with Julie Gonzalo, with whom he co-starred in 2018’s The Sweetest Heart. They welcomed a baby in 2022. Nor are they the only When Calls the Heart stars to recently tie the knot. A few weeks ago, Jack Wagner (who plays Bill Avery) quietly wed girlfriend Michelle Wolf in an intimate ceremony.
