According to Page Six, in her final moments in the role, Whitney Leavitt took to the stage with a newspaper, shouting, “What is that?” She appeared to read the paper, proclaiming, “Whitney Leavitt announces she’s leaving The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.” The crowd reportedly erupted in cheers, happy to support the star’s changing direction.

The decision comes after massive success outside of the series

Long before reality television came calling, Leavitt had always described herself as a performer at heart. It looks like her post-SLOMW trajectory will prove that. After the show’s initial success, Leavitt began saying yes to a ton of opportunities. Those opportunities have uncovered where her true passion lies. After success on Dancing with the Stars, she took on the iconic role of Roxie Hart on Broadway.

Leavitt’s run helped elevate the production, setting a new ticket sales record. Her time in the role was extended multiple times due to ticket demand, and critics found her portrayal enchanting. Leavitt seems pretty sad to be leaving the production behind. Still, it seems like there is more on the horizon for Leavitt. She has some established plans in place: Leavitt will appear in her first feature film soon. She’s stepping into the role of chief creative officer at Cool Sips, as well. Considering the success of her Broadway run, we expect to see her name in lights again soon, too.
