Whitney Leavitt Shared What She Wants Her Future to Look Like After ‘Mormon Wives’
Whitney Leavitt announced that she will leave The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives after five seasons on the show. Leavitt’s career has expanded beyond the reality series, though she credits it with helping her get her start in the entertainment industry. She spoke about her ambitions now that she will no longer be on the series.

While starring on SLOMW, Leavitt also appeared on Dancing With the Stars and joined the cast of Chicago on Broadway as Roxie Hart. The show extended her time as Hart after seeing a huge boom in sales.
During her final performance in Chicago, Leavitt announced the news to the crowd, resulting in cheers and applause.

Once she exits SLOMW after its upcoming fifth season, Leavitt said she hopes to focus on her acting career. She would take more Broadway roles, but she also wants to act in films. While she has high expectations for her career, she acknowledged that it will take time.
“To me, being on Broadway is still acting. That’s still filling my cup. But if I could do both, 1,000 percent, because Broadway is like an acting boot camp,” she told The Hollywood Reporter. “And I don’t have this expectation to all of a sudden be in massive Oscar award-winning films. That’s the goal, but I know it’s going to take time to get there, because I want to work with people. There’s actors and actresses who have been doing this for years, climbing that ladder, and I’m climbing that.”
On Broadway, she said she would love to play Charity in a revival of Sweet Charity. She also knows the director she’d love to work with.
“I love Ryan Murphy,” she said, adding, “I think he’s so talented and such a hard worker, and I admire that. I admire his passion, and I want to work with passionate people and people who also want to work hard.”
Taylor Frankie Paul will also step back from the show
Leavitt’s co-star, Taylor Frankie Paul, has also stepped back from the show, but her decision is mired in controversy. Amid her ongoing legal battle with ex Dakota Mortensen and the domestic violence allegations against her, Paul decided not to appear on season five.
“Taylor is taking a breather,” a source told People. “It’s been a lot last couple months to consume and will be back shortly to continue sharing her story. She’ll decide when the time is right to return to filming on Secret Lives.”
After Mortensen made new allegations against Paul in February, the show paused filming. While ABC initially pulled Paul’s season of The Bachelorette, it will reportedly air on the network this summer.
