Who Has and Who Has Not Appeared in Front of a Grand Jury in the Celeste Rivas Hernandez Murder Case?
In September 2025, the body of a teenager, Celeste Rivas Hernandez, was found inside the trunk of a Tesla registered to D4vd. The gruesome discovery was made after the car was towed from a Hollywood street not far from where the R&B artist was living. While the 20-year-old musician was out of state when the teen’s remains were discovered, the LAPD has reportedly zeroed in on him as a suspect in her death. A grand jury has been combing over evidence and hearing testimony since late last year. While no arrest has been made yet, insiders insist it is imminent. Plenty of people from his inner circle have testified before the grand jury looking into Celeste Rivas Hernandez’s death. A few have not.
Who has testified in front of the grand jury in the Celest Rivas Hernandez case?
The grand jury looking into Celeste Rivas Hernandez’s death is still meeting. While it seems they’d like to speak with a few more people, a number of D4vd’s friends and associates have already testified. Back in December, TMZ reported that Robert Morgenroth, D4vd’s tour manager, spent two days testifying before the grand jury. According to the outlet, part of his conversation outside the courtroom was overheard by passersby, who claimed the music executive was flustered by questions about why he didn’t call the police. It’s unclear exactly what that line of questioning was in reference to, though.
Josh Marshall, who also managed D4vd, also reportedly answered a subpoena to appear. Marshall was identified as the individual who leased the home where D4vd was staying in Hollywood. That home was raided by the LAPD shortly after Celeste Rivas Hernandez’s remains were identified. D4vd moved out of the home immediately after the raid.
We know for a fact that Neo Langston also testified before the grand jury, even though he tried his hardest not to. Langston was actually arrested while hiding out at his mother’s house in Montana last month because he failed to appear in court. Langston was transferred from Montana back to California, where he spoke with the grand jury. It is unclear where he is now. Langston is a streamer who was a longtime friend of D4vd’s. It is unclear what information he may have about Rivas Hernandez’s death.
An unnamed female witness was also rumored to be avoiding the grand jury. Several weeks back, rumors swirled that an arrest warrant might be issued for a female witness who was being uncooperative. The only arrest that was made public was Langston’s, though. That lack of coverage suggests that the female witness eventually complied with the summons, though her identity remains a mystery.
D4vd’s parents are actively trying to avoid testifying
While plenty of people connected to D4vd’s career and life in California have been called to court, the TikTok star’s parents are actively trying to avoid appearing. Many people assume the grand jury is getting close to a conclusion. It might be winding down, but TMZ has reported D4vd’s parents and brother have yet to testify. That is not for lack of trying on the court’s part.
According to the outlet, Dawud Burke, Colleen Burke, and their son Caleb have been summoned as material witnesses. They are due to appear in California but are trying to avoid it by claiming their due-process rights were violated. According to TMZ, the trio claims they only received a redacted version of an affidavit. They argue that, because of the redaction, they were unaware of the reason they were being summoned to appear. D4vd also has a much younger sister, but she has not been called to appear due to her age. Caleb Burke was regularly seen traveling with D4vd during his ill-fated tour, suggesting he might have some insider information about the teen and her connection to his brother.
