Yung Miami Calls Diddy ‘Loving, Genuine,’ and ‘Supportive’ in Letter Ahead of Sentencing
Yung Miami and Sean “Diddy” Combs’ relationship has kept fans guessing through the years, blending public glamour with private intrigue. The City Girls rapper and the music mogul first sparked rumors in 2021 and have since made red-carpet appearances together. While they avoided putting a formal label on things, Miami has spoken about the bond they share, calling it a mix of friendship, mentorship, and fun. Recently, Miami wrote a letter in support of Combs ahead of sentencing. Here’s what she wrote about his “loving” and “genuine” nature.
Yung Miami wrote a letter in support of Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs ahead of sentencing
Sean “Diddy” Combs is scheduled to be sentenced on Oct. 3, 2025, after a New York jury convicted him of two counts of transporting people with the intent to engage in prostitution. He was acquitted of more serious charges, including racketeering and sex trafficking.
Caresha Brownlee, better known as Yung Miami, recently spoke out in support of Sean “Diddy” Combs. Miami and Combs began their relationship publicly between 2021 and 2022, though Miami has described it more in terms of mutual benefit and mentorship than a traditional romance.
Miami filed a character letter to New York Judge Arun Subramanian on Sept. 22, 2025. “For three of those years, I was in a public relationship with Sean, and during that time, I witnessed — and came to know — a different person than the one often portrayed,” she wrote, according to Complex. “Behind the scenes, he was loving, genuine, supportive, and always encouraging. He motivated me, believed in me, and helped me grow both personally and professionally.”
Miami also mentioned how Combs took her to her first-ever Met Gala and helped her find balance in her personal and professional lives. Additionally, she knows he’s done “inner work” with the aid of anger management and therapy.
“In my personal experience, Sean is not a danger or a threat to the community,” she continued. “He is a man of God, someone who uplifts, supports, and inspires those around him to be better mentally, physically, and spiritually. But more than anything, he’s a father, and his kids are the ones who look up to him the most. They need him. His presence, love, and guidance matter deeply in their lives.”
Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ lawyers are pushing for a sentence no longer than 14 months
According to a sentencing memorandum filed in September 2025, Sean “Diddy” Combs’ legal team is pushing for a prison sentence that doesn’t extend beyond 14 months. Page Six notes that his legal team argues that nearly 13 months already served in pretrial detention, plus his participation in rehabilitative programs, merit leniency. The defense emphasizes that Combs endured harsh conditions in detention. And his “career and reputation have been destroyed” over the course of two years.
“Considering these conditions, Mr. Combs’s time served has already been substantially more punitive than the average time served by other defendants convicted under the Mann Act, and a sentence of no more than 14 months is sufficient ‘just punishment,'” the filing stated.
The filing included 75 letters of support from Combs’ friends and family.
Yung Miami previously spoke on her personal ‘experience’ with the mogul
In August 2024, Yung Miami spoke about the allegations against Sean “Diddy” Combs on her Revolt TV show, Caresha Please.
“I can’t speak on these allegations because I wasn’t around at the time,” she said. “I don’t know that person, and that wasn’t my experience.”
She then noted that she met Combs when “the world” celebrated him. “He was getting the global icon award, the lifetime achievement award, the key to the city,” she said. “He had a new album coming out, and I was just celebrating him with the world. I just feel like everybody [is] trying to crucify me for it [now].”
