Amber Heard’s name is in the headlines a lot these days, though the publicity she’s receiving is mainly due to the high-profile trial that just wrapped up. The case found Heard liable for defamation of her ex-husband, Johnny Depp.

Heard, who landed her first role in 2004, has been a presence in the film industry with a part in the DC Extended Universe. While several of Heard’s films have received critical acclaim, others have been panned by both critics and fans. Heard’s worst-rated film, released in 2018, featured a cameo from Depp, though even his brief appearance wasn’t enough to salvage the movie.

Amber Heard is best known for her work in ‘Aquaman’

Born in Texas with big dreams of Hollywood stardom, Heard embarked on an acting/modeling career in the early 2000s. She appeared in a handful of music videos and made a name for herself as a versatile performer. In 2004, according to IMDb, Heard made her movie debut in the sports drama Fright Night Lights. Two years later, she landed her first headlining role in the movie All the Boys Love Mandy Lane.

Over the years that followed, Heard continued to act in a variety of movies, from comedies to action films. In 2018, Heard landed her biggest role to date, as Mera in the DC Extended Universe.

In the film 2018 Justice League, she introduced the character, going on to reprise the role in Aquaman and the upcoming release Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. Although Heard has appeared in several popular films, she’s also been in some bombs – including the 2018 movie London Fields

What is ‘London Fields’ about?

London Fields stars Billy Bob Thornton, Jim Sturgess, and Theo James in addition to Heard. The mystery thriller tells the story of a young woman, Nicola Six, who uses her clairvoyant powers to determine the identity of the man she believes will try to murder her. While London Fields eventually made headlines due to Heard’s legal battle with producers over nudity and sex scenes, critics and viewers struggled to find anything positive to say about the movie.

According to Rotten Tomatoes, London Fields is Heard’s worst-rated film of all time. It has a 0% Tomatometer and a 34% audience score. One critic slammed the movie as “Quite simply, horrendous — a trashy, tortured misfire from beginning to end.” Another characterized London Fields as “Perhaps the most bizarre cinematic disaster of 2018.”

Interestingly enough, Heard’s ex-husband Depp had a brief cameo in the film. He played an eccentric character named Chick Purchase. Depp wasn’t credited in the finished film. By the time London Fields premiered, Depp and Heard were embroiled in their divorce scandal.

‘Paranoia’ is Amber Heard’s second worst-rated film

Heard was nominated for a Razzie Award due to her work in London Fields. But the flick isn’t her only movie that was a critical misfire. The 2013 movie Paranoia, which was released early on in Heard’s movie career, is her second worst-rated film to date.

On Rotten Tomatoes, the film has a 35% audience score, with a 7% Tomatometer rating. One critic wrote, “No one brings anything close to their A-game in this chronically ham-fisted corporate sabotage thriller.”

Heard played a supporting role in the film, which starred Liam Hemsworth and Harrison Ford. Ford, who has long been one of Hollywood’s top stars, didn’t get good marks for his performance in Paranoia. Currently, it’s also one of Ford’s worst-rated films on the review site.
