After an absence from Instagram of about six weeks, “Barefoot Contessa,” Ina Garten is back.

The celebrity chef had been in a frenzy of busy-ness on her social media account since March and seemed to have taken a break from it.

It’s great to have the Cook Like a Pro star back – and in this post, she’s brought exquisite, decadent pie.

Ina Garten has been missed

Six weeks may not seem like a long time to not post on Instagram. With Garten, however, perhaps it seemed that way because she had been posting regularly. Her fun and helpful recipes and ideas for her fans were a constant respite from the pandemic we’re all navigating through. Her last post was the solid black image on June 2, Blackout Tuesday.

From her extra-large cocktails to homemade S’mores, Garten’s posts have brightened the prolonged time so many have had to spend indoors, encouraging creativity in the kitchen.

The Food Network star, in an April 2020 conversation with PBS NewsHour, explained how posting on social media has been giving her a sense of purpose throughout the pandemic.

“In the beginning, I thought, how can I connect with people and give them some tools to make themselves feel better?,” she revealed. “And so I thought, well, maybe I will make something for my pantry.”

“And it started becoming like this town hall,” she said, “where people could ask me the question, and I could answer them and felt very connected to people, and what problems they had that maybe I could help solve.”

She’s got a book due out soon

If you didn’t already know, Garten is working on releasing her most recent cookbook, Modern Comfort Food. It’s a prophetic title, in a way, considering that the year 2020 has turned out to be one in dire need of comfort in the form of food.

Due out in October 2020, Garten announced on Instagram, “I’m so happy to tell you – my next book Modern Comfort Food will be available this October! This book is filled with seriously satisfying recipes that you’ll want to make for yourself and the people you love. The Boston Cream Pie alone will make you a hero in your house! In these anxious times, who doesn’t want a little comfort? You can preorder the book through the link in my profile.”

Garten’s summer-perfect Peach Pie

On Instagram, Garten presented a gorgeous peach pie for her followers to try out. The Food Network favorite is onto something here, because there is no better season than summer to do so.

She posted about her latest creation saying, “Weekend project! I made a lattice-top Peach Pie that may be the best peach pie I’ve ever made. I added orange zest and orange juice, which makes the peaches taste..well..peachier! Have a wonderful weekend!  #staysafe
