Multiple sources claim that Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez plan to divorce. The couple tied the knot in 2022 and appeared ready for a life together. However, sources claim that Affleck and Lopez lost their ability to communicate with each other and have massive lifestyle differences that they can’t overcome.
Affleck talked about his sobriety in the past. He sought treatment for alcoholism in 2001 and entered rehab a few other times in 2017 and 2018. In August 2018, Affleck entered rehab after his then-wife, Jennifer Garner, staged an intervention. The actor has since talked about how alcoholism and mental illness run in his family, so he knows he needs to stay vigilant in his sobriety.
An insider told The Sun that Affleck and Lopez’s marital conflict is wearing on Affleck. While Lopez can fake it to the public, Affleck has a more challenging time. However, he remains committed to sobriety.
“He’s genuinely grateful for his sobriety, and I don’t think he’s falling off the wagon again anytime soon,” the insider said. “But he’s still got the weight of the world hanging over his shoulders every day, and Jennifer doesn’t, despite the recent bad fortune with her tour and new music. She doesn’t ‘do’ misery, at least not around the people closest to her.”
The insider noted that those around Affleck know when he’s “falling apart.”
“When he’s falling apart, everybody around him knows, and everybody faces a loyalty test if they’re not comforting and consoling him,” the source said.

Jennifer Garner might be concerned that Ben Affleck isn’t doing well amid the Jennifer Lopez divorce rumors. The exes stayed together for over a decade, and they remain close for the good of their three kids. A source told OK! Magazine that Garner is worried for Affleck’s health and sobriety.
“She has dropped everything to make sure Ben doesn’t spiral out of control again,” the source alleged. “At the end of the day, Ben is still the father of their children, and she will help him however she can.”
