The BTS members are close friends with Halsey. RM even called her “beautiful, marvelous, sweetest” in a personal note. Here’s what we know about the artists behind “Boy With Luv” from Map of the Soul: Persona.

Love is nothing stronger than a boy with love. “Boy With Luv” was one of the singles from BTS’ Map of the Soul: Persona era. It featured Halsey in the official music video. This singer also formed a close friendship with Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook.

“They are super awesome,” Halsey said during an interview with Ellen DeGeneres. “And they really made me feel at home, like a family.”

“The thing is, I’m not really a hip hop dancer,” she explained. “I do more movements that look intentional, but anyone can kind of do. So I had to learn all this crazy choreography before I went to Korea to shoot the video.”

The BTS members and Halsey exchanged gifts

Before the 2019 Billboard Music Awards, Halsey gifted BTS with friendship bracelets. The accessories were pink and white, which she said was symbolic of the band’s “Boy With Luv” and Map of the Soul: Persona era.

While rehearsing the choreography, some of the BTS members approached Halsey with a gift, to which she responded, “you can’t do that.” It was an autographed copy of Map of the Soul: Persona, which also included a message from RM in English.

RM wrote, “To Halsey: beautiful, marvelous, sweetest” on the front of their album. The BTS members even wore their bracelets while on the red carpet for the award ceremony. Of course, the “Boy With Luv” performance became a favorite moment of many ARMYS.

Halsey included BTS’ Suga on her 2020 release ‘Manic’

Halsey and BTS’ friendship extended beyond their “Boy With Luv” collaboration. When Halsey created her own album in 2020, Manic, she featured Suga on “Suga’s Interlude.”

“So unbelievably proud and happy with ‘Suga’s Interlude,’” Halsey wrote on her Instagram Story. “…I wanted Yoongi because I am a huge fan of his solo music and I knew he would be the perfect person to paint a picture that was beautifully tragic. And I am honored to have, on my album, such a song that transcends language and shows that the human experience is fundamentally the same universally.”

Suga even posted a picture of Halsey’s baby. (RM later stated on a live stream that he hasn’t met the child yet. He still sent well wishes to the “Without Me” singer.)

When BTS performed their Permission to Dance on Stage concerts in Los Angeles, Halsey appeared in the audience, complete with her ARMY bomb. She even appeared on the screen at one point, with the BTS members saying hello to their friend.
