Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, is the wife of Prince Charles, the future King of England. While she has not always been a popular member of the royal family, her relationship with Prince Charles spans decades, and the two share a love story that is truly epic, in its own way.

To many American fans, Bowles is a fascinating figure — and somewhat controversial. Interestingly enough, Bowles shares a very interesting connection to one of the world’s most iconic singers, whose soaring vocals have provided the soundtrack to many people’s lives: Celine Dion.

Camilla was born in London in 1947. Born into an upper-class family, Bowles received a world-class education, and in 1973, she married  British Army officer Andrew Parker Bowles.

The two welcomed two children before getting divorced in 1995, after over 20 years of marriage. Camilla first met Prince Charles, heir to the throne of England, before her marriage to Parker Bowles, and the two embarked on an on-off relationship for nearly two decades.

When the relationship between Prince Charles and Camilla became public, she became a divisive figure in the media, with many slamming her for her supposed role in the breakdown of Prince Charles’ marriage to Princess Diana. Still, Camilla remained silent in the maelstrom, rarely speaking out and keeping her real feelings largely to herself.

After Prince Charles and Princess Diana got divorced, Camilla and Prince Charles were left free to pursue their feelings for each other. Still, Princess Diana’s untimely and tragic death in 1997 cast a shadow over the story of Prince Charles and Camilla’s affair, and it was years before the two began appearing publicly together.

In 2005, Prince Charles and Camilla were married, after nearly three decades of complicated romance. While many members of the public are still divided as to their feelings on the Duchess of Cornwall, there’s no doubt that she has embraced her role as wife to Prince Charles, stepping out to many charity events and working hard on behalf of various causes.

Interestingly enough, while Prince Charles is Camilla’s connection to actual royalty, she has a celebrity connection that many fans might find shocking. According to Insider, Camilla is a 9th cousin, once removed, to the iconic singer, Dion, who is well known for soulful ballads such as “My Heart Will Go On.”

It is unknown whether Dion and Camilla have ever actually crossed paths in real life, much less chatted about their ancestral connection. Still, Dion has had her fair share of encounters with royalty, as well as major celebrities.

One of the best-selling and most popular singers of all time, Dion became a worldwide superstar in the early ’90s, after spending time as a teen star in Quebec and Switzerland. Dion’s vocals for the blockbuster movie Titanic cemented her status as an icon, and to this day, she remains best known for that song — although she has since released hits such as “I’m Your Angel,” “It’s All Coming Back to Me Now” and “The Power of Love.”

Dion’s powerful singing voice has earned her many awards, including five Grammy Awards. These days, Dion remains a force to be reckoned with, working on new music and connecting with her fans on social media.
