Loki is one of the staples in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as Tom Hiddleston has played the God of Mischief since Thor premiered in 2011. No matter how many times he dies, the reformed villain seems to bounce back effortlessly. And after Loki got his television show, fans wanted to see more of him. Thanks to new evidence, audiences might see Loki in the MCU again sooner than expected via Doctor Strange 2.

New evidence suggests Loki appears in ‘Doctor Strange 2’

Per ComicBook.com, voice actor Peter Lontzek may have accidentally spoiled Loki’s involvement in Doctor Strange 2. Lontzek notoriously provides the voice for Tom Hiddleston’s Loki in German dubbed versions of Marvel films. And the actor shared a video on TikTok where he claimed to be working on a top-secret Marvel film.

Lontzek said, “There is a new Marvel film that I am currently working on that I am not allowed to talk about.” Unfortunately, the video is no longer available. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige must have gotten to Lontzek.

The voice actor’s comments suggest that Loki is in Doctor Strange 2. Tom Hiddleston is confirmed to reprise his role in the second season of Loki, but Marvel has not reported that he’s currently involved in any film. So they’re likely trying to keep his appearance a surprise. And given the events of the Loki Season 1 finale, it would make sense if the brother of Thor was in the Doctor Strange sequel.

What happened in the ‘Loki’ Season 1 finale? And how might it connect to ‘Doctor Strange 2’?

Before speculating about Loki’s possible role in Doctor Strange 2, we must remember what happened in the Loki Season 1 finale.

One of Loki’s variants, Sylvie, tore open the multiverse by killing He Who Remains. He Who Remains, a variant of Kang the Conqueror, previously ended a multiversal war started by his variants by destroying timelines and creating the Time Variance Authority to keep the peace. So when Sylvie killed him, she unleashed the multiverse. And Loki entered one of the alternate timelines at the end of the finale.

Flash forward to Spider-Man: No Way Home, Doctor Strange and Peter Parker accidentally broke the multiverse, as well. Peter went to Strange for help in making the world forget he is Spider-Man. But they botched the spell, and heroes and villains from other universes entered the MCU. At the end of the film, Strange fixed the mess by casting another spell to make the world forget Peter, but the damage was already done.

In the upcoming Doctor Strange sequel, Strange deals with the consequences of his actions. And as a result, he’ll encounter many different universes and variants. So perhaps Strange will meet Loki in Doctor Strange 2 as they try to mend their multiversal messes.

The upcoming MCU film will likely feature many cameos

We don’t know much about Doctor Strange 2, but fans theorize that the film will contain many thrilling cameos, including Loki.

Based on the trailer, it seems like Strange and Wanda will meet many variants of themselves. For example, Strange Supreme, Defender Strange, Zombie Strange, and Zombie Scarlet Witch are all in the movie. Fans also recognized Patrick Stewart’s voice in the preview. A mysterious figure said, “We should tell him the truth.” It’s unclear who Stewart is playing, but he will likely appear as some version of Professor X.

As for the rumored cameos, many suspect that Tom Cruise will show up as Superior Iron Man. And some believe that John Krasinski is playing Reed Richards and that Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool could play a part in the sequel.

Doctor Strange 2 premieres exclusively in theaters on May 6.
