Marvel fans are more psyched than ever to see Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness after watching the new trailer and picking apart the new poster for the Marvel Cinematic Universe film. There are multiple Easter eggs in both the trailer and the poster that tease the broad scope of the movie. And it looks like the Doctor Strange sequel will be jam-packed with exciting cameos.

Captain Carter’s shield can be seen on the new ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ poster

Marvel uploaded the new poster for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness to Twitter following the trailer’s premiere during Super Bowl 2022. And, immediately, fans went to work to see all the details they could find on the artwork.

One Easter egg on the poster is Captain Carter’s shield. It’s featured toward the bottom right corner of the picture, next to Doctor Strange’s cape. And as many recall, Captain Carter is the main focus of the first episode of What If…? on Disney+. In the episode, Peggy Carter, voiced by MCU actor Hayley Atwell, took the Super Soldier serum when Steve Rogers was unable to. She became a superhero, bearing the Great Britain flag on her shield.

So since the shield is featured on the Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness poster, it’s conceivable that Atwell will reprise her role as Captain Carter in live-action. The movie will be full of variants from different universes, so anything is possible.

Is Deadpool on the ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ poster?

Now, this Easter egg was hard to spot. But some fans believe they see Deadpool on the new Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness poster. And we have to say; it does look an awful lot like the anti-hero. Deadpool’s face, with his hand held up to his mouth as if he is shushing someone, is seen in a zoomed-in image of the poster below.

Disney officially acquired 20th Century Fox, the studio that held the rights to Deadpool and the X-Men, in 2019. So fans have been waiting for the moment that Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool enters the MCU. And what better time to do so than in a movie about the multiverse?

Marvel is currently developing a third Deadpool movie, which Kevin Feige confirmed will be set in the MCU. Perhaps Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will set the stage for Deadpool 3, especially since many fans believe they hear Patrick Stewart’s voice in the trailer. Stewart played Professor X in the X-Men movies.

Other Easter eggs spotted

The Captain Carter and Deadpool teases on the Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness poster elicit much excitement among fans. But there are a few other noteworthy Easter eggs on the image.

The trailer introduced many new Doctor Strange variants, some of which are also on the poster. These include Defender Strange and Strange Supreme. Elsewhere on the poster are Marvel Zombies, Captain America’s star symbol, and Captain Marvel’s logo.

There are probably even more Easter eggs hidden in the poster that we and fans have yet to find. But we know one thing for sure — the Doctor Strange sequel is going to be insane in the best way possible.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, directed by Sam Raimi, premieres exclusively in theaters on May 6.
