Jill Duggar is getting more candid than ever regarding where she stands with her family. While she and her husband, Derick Dillard, initially took to YouTube to answer fan questions, Jill’s now talking to publications about leaving the show and the impact her decisions have had. And it might not be sitting well with a few of her family members.

On Oct. 21, Jessa Duggar posted a video to YouTube of a sweet moment spent with Jana Duggar. And family critics think Jessa could be attempting to distract from Jill’s recent interview.

Jill Duggar publicly talked about leaving ‘Counting On’ behind

Derick’s talked about Jill’s alleged rift with her family in the past. According to Derick, Jill needs Jim Bob Duggar’s permission before entering the Duggar family home, and they barely see the other Duggars for this reason.

Now, it looks like Jill’s setting the record straight for herself. She’s answering fan questions via her YouTube channel, and she talked to People about what it’s been like for her after choosing to step away from reality TV.

“Our control to choose what jobs we were allowed to accept and even where we were allowed to live was taken away from us,” Jill told People. And she added that when she finally told her family she was pulling away from Counting On, it “didn’t go over very well with anyone.” Even so, Jill knew it was the right call for her and her family.

Jessa Duggar posted a video of Jana Duggar playing the recorder

Jill still sees her sisters from time to time, but it seems they don’t keep up with each other as much as they once did. And those who follow the Duggars certainly noticed when Jessa posted a video of Jana on the same day as the release of Jill’s exclusive interview with People.

“Found this video gem from January 2020,” Jessa captioned the YouTube video she posted of Jana playing the recorder. “This girl is the most diversely talented individual I know. Is there anything she can’t do?” The video itself is only a mere 53 seconds long and shows some playful banter between Jessa and Jana as Jana plays the instrument.

Some of Jessa’s fans seemed to enjoy the video despite it’s odd publication timing.

“I believe Jana can do anything she puts her mind to,” one fan commented.

While Jessa might’ve found this playful video of Jana and posted it to YouTube without thinking about the timing, Duggar family critics don’t think that’s the case. Some Reddit users believe Jessa was purposely distracting from Jill’s interview with her own content.

“Jessa tried to distract from Jill’s interview by suddenly posting a nine-month-old video of Jana,” a Reddit user noted.

“Jill: My family and I are no longer on good terms. Jessa: LOOK! Jana can play the recorder. It’s soooo special and important,” another wrote.

“Lol nice try Jessa,” yet another added. “We consider Jill to be just as important as anyone else and will allow her to have her moment to say her story.”

It looks like critics are on Jill’s side for this one, as they want Jill’s story to be heard loud and clear without anything taking away from it. As for how Jill feels about the video of Jana playing the recorder, we may never know.
