‘Grey’s Anatomy’ cast returning for season 19

The Grey’s Anatomy Season 18 finale left fans with many cliffhangers about the fate of their beloved characters. Although Dr. Miranda Bailey quit her job as Chief of Surgery in Grey’s Anatomy Season 18, Chandra Wilson will return for season 19.

James Pickens Jr’s Richard Webber might not have a residency program to run, but he also returns for the next installment. Wilson, Pickens Jr, and Ellen Pompeo all inked new deals with ABC before the season finale.

It also might look like Owen Hunt and Teddy Altman could leave the show since they fled with their children to another country. However, both Kevin McKidd and Kim Raver have three-year contracts they signed before season 17. So, viewers will see what happens with Owen and Teddy when Grey’s Anatomy Season 19 returns for the premiere.

Camilla Luddington, who plays Jo, also signed a three-year deal at the same time, guaranteeing she will be back for season 19 as well. Scott Speedman only signed on for season 18. However, that doesn’t mean he won’t renew his deal with ABC to return as Dr. Nick Marsh.

Caterina Scorsone (Amelia Shepherd), Kelly McCreary (Maggie Pierce), Chris Carmack (Atticus Lincoln), Anthony Hill (Winston Ndugu), and Jake Borelli (Levi Schmitt) will all return as well.

Bailey handed her the role, and Meredith’s job is fixing everything broken at Grey Sloan. Avid fans hope that she might bring back some fan-favorite doctors to help save the hospital. Showbiz Cheat Sheet spoke with Kate Walsh about potentially returning to reprise her role as Addison Montgomery again. The actor seemed open to it and had some thoughts on the upcoming season.

“We’re chatting a little bit about the possibility of coming back for something, but I don’t know yet,” Walsh told the outlet. “But yeah, I just know that there’s going to be massive, just a lot in store for the next season, a lot of changes, a lot of really cool, I think new beginnings and different, just different places that the show is going to go.”
