It’s been an eventful week, what with the end of Donald Trump’s presidency and Joe Biden’s inauguration. But if you were hoping to get John Oliver‘s take on the White House transition, you’re going to be disappointed. Sadly, Last Week Tonight With John Oliver is still on hiatus. (Boo, hiss.) However, you won’t have to wait much longer for new episodes of HBO’s late-night comedy show.

“Well, a thing or two has happened since we’ve been away, but we’ll be back soon!” read a recent message from the show’s office Twitter account.

‘Last Week Tonight With John Oliver’ returns Feb. 14

Forget Valentine’s Day. The real reason to celebrate this Feb. 14 is the return of Oliver’ award-winning show for its eighth season. (The series has snagged 20 Emmys since it premiered in 2014, including four for season 7.) The new Last Week Tonight episodes will begin airing in less than a month on Sunday nights at 11 p.m. ET. They will also be available to stream on HBO Max.

A season 8 trailer released Jan. 15 includes highlights from last season, including a ribbon-cutting ceremony for Danbury, Conn.’s new John Oliver Memorial Sewer Plant, Oliver’s thirst for The Last Jedi star Adam Driver, and blowing up 2020 in the season finale. “Let tomorrow be about solutions,” Oliver says. “Today is about vengeance.”

Here’s the official synopsis from HBO:

A satirical, insightful and meticulously researched look at current events in the U.S. and around the globe, Last Week Tonight With John Oliver features Oliver’s hilarious, much-needed perspective on today’s pressing political, social and cultural issues. As the country navigates the ongoing coronavirus pandemic and a new administration in the White House, the eighth season of the critically acclaimed series promises to shine a light on headline news as well as lesser-reported topics that both inform and entertain, featuring a mix of the series’ sharp commentary, pre-taped pieces and occasional special guests.

While fans are welcoming the imminent return of Last Week Tonight, many wish he was around to comment on recent current events.

“This all would be so different with you around to comment on it all,” one person wrote in response to the tweet announcing the upcoming episodes.

“You’ll need a whole season just to fill what happened since you [w]ent on break,” another replied.

In the meantime, if you haven’t seen it, check out Oliver’s brief return from hiatus in December, when he demanded Pringles answer his questions about what the body of its Pringles Guy mascot looked like. Pringles responded to the challenge, revealing a full-body look at Mr. Pringle in a tweeted video.

Last Week Tonight With John Oliver Season 8 premieres Sunday, Feb. 14 at 11 p.m. ET on HBO.
