Jana Duggar is getting more attention than ever now that so many of her brothers and sisters have publicly courted, married, and moved out of her parents’ house. While Jana is 30, it doesn’t seem like she has any plans to move away from Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar just yet, as she remains single. But in an episode of Counting On, she noted her family treats single folks different from the married ones. Here’s what she said.

Jana Duggar remains single at 30 years old

The Duggars are all about courting young and marrying quickly. Because Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar are devout Baptists, they believe in traditional gender roles and trust that all of their daughters will find their Prince Charming one day.

While Jana is the oldest Duggar daughter and has certainly courted some men in the past, none of them have been right for her. For that reason, she still lives with her parents and helps take care of the younger kids who also live in the same home.

Just because Jana is known as being the single and independent Duggar daughter doesn’t mean she’s completely given up on marriage, though. She told People that if she finds someone she’s completely in love with, she’s willing to do whatever it takes to make the relationship work.

“So now, it’s more like, OK, if I really love the guy, I’ll follow him to the ends of the earth,” she said. “I’ll want to go wherever he is. So far I just haven’t found that one.”

Jana mentioned her family treats the ‘singles’ and ‘marrieds’ differently in the house

There appears to be a lot of pressure for the Duggar kids to get married. Jim Bob and Michelle don’t permit their kids to hug, kiss, or engage in any sort of sexual activity prior to marriage, too. Not only that, but the Duggars adore children, and it’s clear Jim Bob and Michelle love having grandbabies around.

This likely puts a lot of pressure on Jana, as Michelle already had several children by the time she was 30. And Jana mentioned her married family members sometimes leave her out because she’s still single.

“I feel like we do these whole groupings of the ‘marrieds’ and the ‘singles,’ and we forget that oh wait, we’re all sisters,” Jana told the cameras in a clip posted to Reddit. “We’re all brothers and sisters. And so keeping that focus, it makes it more enjoyable when it’s not this whole awkward, like, ‘Oh, I’m not one of ya’ll.’ It’s like, no, we’re family.”

Duggar family critics think Jana definitely feels left out

Given when Jana shared with the camera, it seems there have certainly been times when she’s been left behind by her married siblings. And Reddit users think she most definitely feels left out from some of the family fun.

“I think it’s sad to see that she misses out on events because she’s not a mom or one of the ‘married ones,’ a Reddit user commented on the clip.

“Can definitely tell she feels left out, but she also has a valid point,” another wrote. “The older sisters and the younger sisters are seen how often together? Yeah that’s right almost never, unless it’s the little ones with Jana or for a holiday.”

“It is sad and she has a good point,” yet another added. “People tend to do that.”

We’re hoping Jana’s family members include her more now that she’s voiced this concern to the cameras. Either way, we’re sure she’ll keep on living the single life and not rushing anything she isn’t ready for.
