‘John Wick 4’: Keanu Reeves Teases High-Octane Traffic Fight Scene

The John Wick franchise has offered some of the best action scenes in recent memory. Audiences love to see Keanu Reeves in the film series and the stellar fight choreography that can get rather brutal. John Wick 4 is the next installment that has fans excited to see how it expands upon the universe. Reeves recently teased an intense traffic fight scene that’s sure to be a great action set-piece.

John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum follows John after killing a member of the international assassins’ guild in a way that’s against the rules. He becomes the target of every assassin when a $14 million price tag is placed on his head. John is forced to pull every trick he can in order to stay alive. This further expands upon the universe.

John Wick 4 plot details remain secretive, but it’s clear that it will continue to develop some of the plot points introduced in its predecessor. John Wick 4 and John Wick 5 were supposed to be shot back-to-back, but that production plan has been scrapped. The television spinoff series The Continental is also supposed to strengthen the international assassins’ guild’s background.

Keanu Reeves teases an intense ‘John Wick 4’ fight scene

Reeves appeared on Today to talk about his new comic book Brzrkr, but the John Wick 4 actor also talked about the upcoming action movie sequel. He explained how much he has enjoyed playing the role and what fans can expect from the sequel. Reeves mentioned big action, new characters, and further worldbuilding.

“They’re fun,” Reeves said. “They’re intense. We’re going for it. There’s some really amazing John Wick action and new characters and it’s been really fun to be playing the role again and to be telling this story. You know, there’s new characters and we’re opening up the world.”

Reeves also said that they’re currently working on an intense fight sequence that takes place in traffic. He’s still remaining fairly tight-lipped about the upcoming sequel. John Wick is known for constantly topping its captivating fight sequences, so John Wick 4 is likely to be no different with its top-notch action set-pieces.

Reeves continued: “Right now we’re just shooting this crazy fight scene in the middle of traffic. So there’s car crashes, gunfights.”

Keanu Reeves will next appear in ‘The Matrix Resurrections’

Reeves is keeping incredibly busy on the action front. He’s currently working on John Wick 4 and John Wick 5 already has the green light to go into production next. However, the information is even more secretive on the following installment.

Meanwhile, he’s completed filming The Matrix Resurrections, which is the franchise’s fourth installment. The action movie is set to hit theaters Dec. 22 in theaters and on HBO Max. He also lent his voice for the upcoming DC League of Super-Pets. It’s currently expected on May 20, 2022.
