Many fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe were worried that Spider-Man: No Way Home would be Tom Holland‘s last film playing Peter Parker. The actor’s comments during the press tour for the movie regarding his future at Marvel were concerning, to say the least. However, we now know that Holland most certainly isn’t done portraying the beloved character just yet.

Kevin Feige teases Tom Holland’s future as Spider-Man in the MCU

The day Spider-Man: No Way Home premiered in theaters, The New York Times published an interview with the film’s producers — Kevin Feige and Amy Pascal. The interviewer asked Feige about Marvel’s plans for Spider-Man in the MCU.

“He’s going to show up sometime,” Feige shared. “The when and the where, of course, is the fun part — and the part that we don’t talk about.”

Of course, Feige, known as one of the most secretive men in Hollywood, didn’t give a straight answer regarding which film Tom Holland will appear in as Spider-Man. But the good news is that the actor will reprise his role in the MCU.

Sony Pictures’ CEO confirms Feige’s statement

At the Spider-Man: No Way Home premiere, the CEO of Sony Pictures, Tom Rothman, told ComicBook.com that Tom Holland is guaranteed to show up in a future MCU movie.

“No specific plans,” Rothman said. “But it’s reciprocal. We lend one, then [Marvel Studios] lends one, and that’s how Benedict [Cumberbatch] is in this movie. So we have one more lend back that is committed.”

The Sony Pictures CEO added, “But the thing that I can say, and this is actually the accurate scoop on this, which is that the two companies have a terrific working relationship and I think it’s a mutual hope that that would continue, but there really isn’t anything definitive at this moment because the truth of the matter is we gotta ride this puppy and see what happens.”

Perhaps Sony and Marvel were waiting to see how Spider-Man: No Way Home would do at the box office before making plans for solo films with Tom Holland. But given that the MCU movie has passed the $1 billion mark at the global box office, it might be safe to say that Holland’s future as Peter Parker is very bright. Nevertheless, fans will see the actor as Spider-Man at least once more.

Which MCU film could Tom Holland appear in as Spider-Man?

Marvel Studios is trying to keep Tom Holland’s next appearance as Spider-Man a secret. However, that doesn’t mean fans can’t speculate about which film he could show up in.

Many believe that the most obvious answer is Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. The Doctor Strange sequel directly follows the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home since Stephen helped Peter tear open the multiverse. It would make sense if Spider-Man helped Doctor Strange fix the multiverse.

There’s also the theory that Holland will appear in Fantastic Four, which is currently in development. Jon Watts, who directed all three MCU Spider-Man movies, will direct the upcoming Fantastic Four film. Perhaps Watts and Holland will work together once more.

Spider-Man: No Way Home, starring Tom Holland, is now playing in theaters.
