‘Love Is Blind’: Deepti Said Shake’s Scenes Were ‘Hard to Watch’

Love Is Blind Season 2 had a few moments that would make anyone cringe. That includes how Abhishek “Shake” Chatterjee talked about Deepti Vempati behind her back. She gave her reaction to watching the season and more.

Deepti and Shake met through the experiment and found out they had a lot in common. They both experienced losing weight. They are both Indian but didn’t date Indian people before and want kids one day. Shake proposed, and they moved forward in the show.

But on the honeymoon, Shake’s feelings for Deepti already started changing. “So she’s like the number one hype girl. So f*cking fun,” the veterinarian told Jarrette Jones. “I’m not physically attracted to her, man. It feels like I’m with my aunt or something.” 

In a later episode, he also talked to his mom about his lack of attraction. “I’m just not feeling necessarily the kind of like, like overwhelming instinctual attraction or animalistic attraction that I would want to feel, and that I’ve felt before in other relationships,” he said. He still claimed Deepti was the most perfect person he’s ever met.

Deepti said Shake’s scenes were ‘hard to watch’

Deepti opened up about watching the show with her loved ones. She admitted to BuzzFeed that it wasn’t enjoyable to see her ex-fiancé talk about her. 

“Shake and I had conversations about how physical intimacy and that chemistry was lacking between us,” she said. “But to watch it back and see how he did it — it was kind of like, ‘Oh, look at me, I’m this cool dude that’s just gonna talk sh*t about you to my friends.’ You don’t talk about somebody who is your fiancé, let alone a best friend — or even just a real friend — that way.”

She added, “It was kind of disappointing and hard to watch, especially because my parents were so impacted by it. We welcomed him into our home.”

Do Deepti and Shake get married on ‘Love Is Blind’?

The season of the Netflix show ended with “The Weddings.” Deepti was asked if love is blind first at their ceremony. 

“I hope you know how much you mean to me and the impact you’ve made on my life,” she told Shake. “But no, I cannot marry you. I deserve somebody who knows for sure. So I’m choosing myself and I’m gonna say no.” 

Deepti revealed to BuzzFeed that she decided not to marry Shake when they had their massage date. She said it felt “disingenuous” and forced. So the season ends with Deepti and Shake going their separate ways after many awkward discussions.
