Manny Delgado from ‘Modern Family’ did his own parody of ‘Hamilton’

Even as a child, this Modern Family character was writing poetry and performing in school plays. With his love for theater, Manny Delgado wanted to pursue the arts once he graduated high school.

One of his most important college applications was to The Juilliard School in New York City. During the “Weathering Heights” episode of season 6, he showed Jay and Gloria his video application, which was a parody of “Alexander Hamilton” from the Tony Award-winning musical, Hamilton.

“How does an artsy, well-read, child of divorce, a Colombian, dropped in the middle of a forgotten plot in suburbia with confident,” Manny rapped. Jay paused the video and said, “you copied that, from that play, Hamilton, right?”

“It’s okay, Papi,” Gloria reassured her son. “Maybe the people in New York haven’t heard about Hamilton.”

Where did Manny from ‘Modern Family’ go to college?

Presumably, Manny didn’t get into Julliard, even with his new and improved video application. Fans did learn that he got into at least six colleges, two of which were Boston University and the University of Michigan.

According to Modern Family Fandom, during the “Commencement” episode of this series, Manny mentions that he’s attending the California Institute of Arts with dreams of becoming a playwright. It’s this school that allows him the travel home frequently and spend time with his extended family.
