Olajuwon, 29, isn’t hiding his wild past. He’s confessed to being a player in his younger days and using a fake name when meeting women. Now, he insists that he’s ready to settle down.

“I’m ready for the next chapter,” he said.

The Married at First Sight experts paired him with 29-year-old Katina. She’s always wanted to be married and have a family, but her past relationships haven’t worked out. Being cheated on again is one of her fears. That has some fans worried that unless Olajuwon has really reformed, their marriage won’t work out.

Olajuwon worries his past could be an issue for Katina

Olajuwon knows his past could be an issue for his future wife.

“When I was in college, I used to run around, do whatever I wanted, play with whoever I wanted to, didn’t care about anybody’s feelings except mine,” he said.

Now, he’s worried that his youthful indiscretions might affect his future relationship with his Married at First Sight bride Katina.

“What if I messed with somebody that she knows and she can’t get over my past? What goes around comes around,” he said.

Still, Olajuwon – who broke down in tears before he walked down the aisle – is hopeful things will work out with Katina.

“I hope she can feel I’m genuine with this,” he said “It’s real. I want to live happily ever after.”

Olajuwon says he’s ready for married life. But what he expects from his wife might be too much. He wants a traditional marriage with a wife who cooks him dinner every night. His family and friends fear he’ll have to adjust those high expectations if he wants his marriage to succeed.

“I hope you’re no stranger to the kitchen,” the officiant said while reading a statement from Olajuwon’s loved ones during the ceremony. Katina’s expression – and the laughter of her family and friends – suggested she’s not much of a cook.

Despite possibly having different ideas about a wife’s role in the kitchen, Katina and Olajuwon both seemed pleased with the person the experts matched them with.

“He is handsome,” Katina said after the wedding.

“When I seen my wife, I had no words,” Olajuwon said. “Every time she looks at me, she smiles. I think she is gorgeous … I can’t believe that I’m married.”

New episodes of Married at First Sight Season 14 air Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET on Lifetime.
